Well because I have bph and want to stop waking up to pee so often at night lol
3 Weeks In, Not Too Impressed, Ready to Give Up
Well it aināt my first day of keto just need some tweaking lol
The frequency in which I have to pee is actually my go to gauge of ketosis. I used to drive from Seattle to San Francisco, and back, regularly. When I was on the SAD, Iād have to stop every 2nd or 3rd rest area. On keto, it would be one stop, usually combined with a fuel stop.
As far as over night, itās the difference of once or twice, to sleeping through the night without needing to get up.
Heya, while Iām not thrilled with you singling me out to vent your frustrations in kind of a harsh way, I am sympathetic to your struggles. Glad to see you are still trying and getting very good advice below.
Since you chose to pick on me you will get some advice lol Eat within a window of 90 minutes whenever you do eat, even if itās three times a day, eat to satiety (learn what that means for you), never eat between meals period. If you are hungry between meals, you didnāt eat enough at the previous one, adjust accordingly for the next time.
You mentioned an angry stomach if you donāt eat more often. Hunger comes in waves many times a day. I understand rushing to get rid of that discomfort but, often it is just a suggestion your body is making and not a true need for fuel. You can tell if itās going to pass if you eat some salt and it abates, or if you just wait it out and it fades on its own. If it persists past say, a half hour, itās likely real hunger and you need to eat a full meal, not just salve it with snacks no matter how keto the small foods are.
One other thing I would say is donāt go over 5,000 mg of potassium a day, it can be super dangerous. Search threads for what can happen.
My best to you on your continuing healing process.
I was not picking on you or anyone, Iām just discussed with this poor energy no fat adaption diet that really sucks, tired all the time, Iām still doing the diet because Iām to scared to increase carbs and get the shits and headaches, Iām lost, I donāt know what to do, all I know is this diet is crap, no such thing as adaption, or it would have happened by now
Hun, Iām just eating, I donāt care about if I eat between meals because I donāt snack and if I need to eat itās because I have no energy in this f heat sweating like crazy losing Electrolytes, I just watch my carb manager app and log everything and get 10g of sodium a day so I donāt get a flu headache but I am about fed up with this crappy diet everyone thinks is so great
I am hating this stupid diet more everyday, fat adaption is a myth, or why is it taking so long to get the feel good ppl talk about, this diet is a joke, only lose water nothing else and feel like crap for 3 months
Wish I could suggest a keto doc for you to visit. There has to be a reason why things are going like they are. Maybe theyād have tools that we on a chat forum wouldnāt even know about. (?) At least they could do some blood work to see whether that could give some clues.
Sorry youāre having such a rough time. Hope something good happens for you soon.
Most ppl are fat adapted by now 10 weeks, thatās almost 3 months lol to get adapted, why is it taking so long and why am I getting keto flu the whole 10 weeks and peeing like crazy that should have let up after the 2nd week
And I hate going to doctor, will never go again unless itās emergency because the doctor wants to put me on bp pills but Iām not going to take their cancer causing drugs, and I donāt trust them period, I am still debating how to slowly increase carbs till I get to about 70g to stay
I hear ya. Iām not fond of going to the doctor either. But if you were to find a keto friendly one, someone like Ken Berry or Ted Naiman, maybe they could really help you get things sorted out. Going to the doctor on your terms is a lot better than going to the doctor because you collapsed and wound up in the ER.
Maybe if you tell us what area youāre from, someone would know of a good person to seek out. (?) Maybe?
Hate to know of someone suffering, especially is there is something relatively easy that could make things a whole lot better.
Either way, wishing you the best.
I get that youāre struggling, and I think weāve shown that weāre happy to try to help, but there are literally THOUSANDS of people on this forum that have had success. I can assure you, fat adaptation isnāt a myth.
Looking back over the thread, it also seems youāre tending to base your approach on how you think things SHOULD work, not how many of us have learned how they ACTUALLY work.
Iām in central Wisconsin and I have been looking for a holistic doctor but all are either a quack like acupuncture the scam that doesnāt work after 10 sessions or a regular doctor treating the symptoms with cancer causing pills, and on the tv itās brainwashing when they talk about a pill with happy smiling ppl and then they sneak in what it causes but ppl are not listening because they are in a trance from the happy ppl lol
Well it aināt work no matter what I try, even fasting is a joke unless you want leg cramps from not enough potassium or magnesium because I need food to get those, even Ron said it took him 10 weeks to become adapted and Iām past that week 11, send me someone that it took 4 months to get adapted and I will continue the diet till then, but I think I will be slowly increasing carbs till I hit 75
And I believe this diet is very unhealthy during the time Iām trying to become adapted because if Iām not burning fat then I am adding that to my body clogging up arteries.
Iām assuming youāre saying that because you believe fat clogs arteries; it doesnāt. As extreme as it sounds, and Iām sure others will disagree, take a break. Fuck following keto for now and take time to read up on it and listen to the 2ketodudes podcast to really learn and understand how and why everything works.
Then get a fresh start with a better understanding of the biochemistry of how the ketogenic diet works.
And the last two weeks my net carbs have been between 13g and 19g protein 25% 8 to 10 grams of sodium a day
Like I said; take a break and check out the 2ketodudes podcast. There is a LOT of info to learn, and much of it will contradict what you THOUGHT you knew about nutrition.
