14 day fast, here we go!

#21

@Scatter, I imagine this is what your intestines are telling the autophagy digestion system right now…

Good job.

My aim this year and I’m into day 2 of my initial extended fast to reset, is to fast until my BGL is 90 (5.0mmol/L) or below. I’ll measure ketones as often as i need to keep track using my ketonix and maybe every second day blood ketones.

If I’m hungry and my BGL is less than 90 then i will eat a keto meal otherwise push through it until it is.

KCKO!

Way to go PB! Pulling for ya!

#24

Lol!

Day 5 in the books for me. Dropping about 1-1.5 lbs a day.

Day 2 done.
Blew a 7 flash green! Hopefully tomorrow it will be a solid yellow.

@Pilotbob & @Fiorella

How did you find the information on the Fasting Book? I read a few reviews that said while it is a good book, you can pretty much find every bit of information on their websites.

#28

The info is put together nicely in one spot. Not sure if everything in the book is on their websites…I didn’t verify that.

(Ron) #29

I may just have to check out the book… it would be nice to save the $10 or so, but at the same time, I feel like I should support the authors

… I guess in the long run I’ll be saving a lot more on not eating then the book would cost regardless

There was a typo before, I’m actually on day 4 today. So completed 3 days of fasting.

So far so good.

One observation: I’m having crazy ass dreams. To the point that I’m waking up a little tired.

#31

Part I (What is Fasting and Why is it Good for You) of the book is the same info that I’ve seen in Fungs youtube videos, and also a lot of it seems repeated from The Obesity Code.

Part II (How to Fast) was some new info or filled in missing info from his previous book and videos.

Part III (Resources) Has more prescriptive info about Fluids, and 24 hour, 36 hour, 42 hour, and 7-14 day fasting protocols.

And then there is a Recipe section.

I did feel a lot of the book was repetitive. I don’t know if this was just for filler, or if they figured people would use this more as a reference than reading it from start to finish.

Part II and III is the info I was looking for. For me, it was well worth the $10 (kindle edition) that I paid.

#32

I have heard that, but never experienced the weird dreams myself. I do sleep like crap while I fast though. But I dont feel as if I am not sleeping. I do not wake up tired.

#33

Day 4 is where I usually get the Keto Rush. Let us know how you are doing!

#34

Correction, I forgot monday was a holiday and I will be home. So, monday dinner will be my last meal. Doing my first fast day at home isn’t as easy as doing it at work where I have no access to my fridge and pantry.

(Jeff Waters) #35

Day 4 went just fine. I tried apple cider vinegar in my tea this evening. 2 teaspoons. Not yummy, but variety.

Also did an easy 30 minute walk with the dog.

@Scatter, what is keto rush?

#36

Ugh Jeff…wish I could choke down ACV. No can do. Keto Rush is the feeling when your ketone production finally kicks in once your glycogen is depleted. You go from dragging arse to kicking arse in a nanosecond!

#37

1/2hour from day 13…felt better today than I have since maybe day 5. Down 21 pounds. The food fight is purely being waged between my ears at this point.

Awesome job fella

(Lauren Malhoit) #39

Great job! I’m going to join you starting tomorrow…not for 11 days, but a few days. Not sure yet.

(Jeff Waters) #40

Awesome, @Scatter!

I woke up to day 5 with a mild headache and a touch of mental fog. Good thing it’s Saturday!

A little better after a couple of advil and coffee.
