When to Workout

(Troy) #1

W IF, eating at 12pm again at 4-6pm…

What the ideal time to work out ( moderate weight training ) for this scenario?

  1. before 1st meal, then wait, then eat?
    I do this now.

  2. after my 1st meal, then workout ?

  3. after 1st meal, wait an hour or so, the workout ?

Is there any scientific data or articles to reference ?

Or…is this more of a “ to each their own “. Whatever works best

Thanks

I like to workout fasted because I read we build more muscle fasted.

Fasted is what I’ve read, if for weight loss.

First thing in the Morning, fasted. If desiring fat loss, wait until hungry before you eat.

Yes. Thank You for the replies!

The longer you’re fasted, the higher human growth hormone levels rise. So, weight training in fasted state has potential for huge benefits. Don’t expect to accomplish your best lifts though. It’s taken me a few months to adjust and still benching less with fast and a lot less without carbs. However, actual muscle mass gain and body fat percentage results have been excellent with keto and IF. In addition, to really take advantage of HGH levels, I’ve been doing heavy training sessions before breaking 3 day fasts. I feel 3 days is peak benefit for me. Technically HGH levels climb for about a week but trade off of lacking protein and training sessions for 7 days isn’t necessarily worth it. My current standard, fast from 1900 and train around 1000, break fast around noon or 1300 with a lot of beef or pork
