When it's time to end the fast

#1

hello,
I am 52 hours into what i wanted to be a 3 day fast, but after i worked out i felt pretty dizzy, i drank some water it went away but kind of is a lingering feeling. is this a sign it’s time to end this particular fast? how could I get my electrolytes back in balance? I’m assuming it’s because I’ve only had water for 52 hours. I’ve done 3 previous 2 to 3 day fast, never quite had that feeling.

Lack of salt is most likely the culprit. We can’t stop with the electrolytes… even when fasting.

…not trying to be dumb…so eat some salt?

Yes, but not all at once. If it’s any easier, you can add it to water or coffee (If you are still drinking it during your fast) so it’s not such a labor to eat. We need at least 2 tsp per day, preferably in small amounts, over the course of the day.

Salt. You need to supplement salt when you’re fasting.

I put salt crystals between my lips and gums like chewing tobacco. Then let them seep into the mouth. 1-3 tsp per day - a pinch at a time. Then I drink when thirsty.

I find that drinking copious amounts of salty water can lead to loose :poop: that is not convenient if not home…
