What's your favorite meal, and why? I really want to know! šŸ™‚

It’s like I always say, ā€œI used to be a huge cereal eater. Figuratively, and literally.ā€

We have cereal like that at our store called
ā€œGolden Grahamsā€ . Looks identical… i loved it growing up. Clearly you have the cereal bowl that i could have gladly used growing up in my Pre-Keto days. I never had a bog enough bowl
Had to suffice with a large plastic container.

Spanikopita pizza is delicious… its spanikopita filling on a pizza… so…

Garlic Butter and Parmesean on the crust…then you add spanikopita filling(mixture of ricotta, feta, egg, lots of garlic, diced red onion) You mix it all together and put it on top and then top with parmesean and mozzerella cheese.

Spanikopita is greek for spinach pie. So very garlicy and spinach"y".

a 250g petite eye fillet with salad and a garlic prawn topper with bernaise sauce, not to be precise or anything

#65

Mine were reused Cool Whip bowls!

Oh my, that does sound good! Sometimes it sucks being lazy keto. :slightly_frowning_face:

You’ve got me drooling for those garlic prawns! I’ve really got to try them sometime.

I guess I need to find a place that serves them, first.

They are indeed awesome.

I love a good cheese fondue. We just use keto bread and lightly steamed keto veggies for dipping, along with ham cubes. Drinking champagne, great festive meal that we still get to enjoy.

If I can’t have that then please make it scallops with an awesome salad, had that tonight with white wine adn 88% dark chocolate, pretty great meal.

(KCKO, KCFO 🄄) #68

Where they banana prawns??? I still miss those and scallops with the egg sack still attached. How I miss my fishmonger :frowning:

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #69

Oh, wait . . . you’re talking about steak, aren’t you? Never mind!

(Jessica) #70

Have you had the S’mores variety? Basically this cereal with coco puffs and crunchy Lucky Charms style marshmallows…mmmm…

My favorite was probably medium rare sirloin, before I realized I was allergic… Then any cheesy pasta with a good marinara.

(Natasha) #71

Fillet steak, medium rare… loads of homemade green peppercorn sauce made with HWC and a splash of brandy. Long, tender-stem broccoli, green beans and yellow pepper pan fried in the steak juices. Served with a side of crispy salt-and-pepper pork belly pieces.

This thread is making me hungry!

These look yum!

I heard every bit of that, Darren. Nothing necessarily to do with keto - ribeye has been my favorite cut of beef for decades.

On the miserable and bloated, my wife and I used to go to Mexican restaurants and it went like this: chips, salsa and hot cheese dip. At least 2 big baskets of chips. This ensured that we would never really be hungry enough for the main meal, though we always ordered it.

A big pitcher of Margaritas. Lots of alcohol and a crapton of sugar. Guaranteed some reactive hypoglycemia for me and getting severely sleepy. Made me feel even fuller (of course I was compelled to drink every last drop), and it was a struggle to process all this stuff. Sluggish, at the least, into the next day. Gadzooks…

Favorites: my own creamed corn recipe with roasted garlic, tiny potatoes, small sweet onions and mushrooms. Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Ketoland anymore.

Spicy Italian Sausage sandwiches (ā€˜subs’ or ā€˜hoagies’) - with Marinara sauce and Provolone or Mozzarella cheese, on a toasted bun.

That’s a terrible allergy to have. :astonished:

Ooh, I never thought about this. That sounds wonderful!

Feeling bloated and woozy just reading that.

No, it’s not keto, but it’s interesting to see what we’ve given up for our health.

(Doug) #76

Rice with salt and a lot of butter. Talk about the worst of all worlds - vast amounts of carbs and fat together.

#77

and a ton of sugar…

That was a staple when I lived in Georgia.

Thought it was sooo good, and my body’s like ā€œNOā€!

(Janelle) #78

I live in Georgia. You’re not saying they added sugar to rice?

#79

White minute rice, water, salt, butter and sugar.
Microwaved for a few minutes. Instant meal (aka: blood sugar spike).

Didn’t eat it, if it didn’t have sugar in it.

Now I’m not saying everyone put sugar in their rice, but that’s where I learned to do it.

I’ve never seen it but then I’m in Atlanta. In Germany, my host mom used to make me ā€œMilchreisā€. Arborio rice simmered in whole milk and sugar until creamy. Served with fresh whipped cream and strawberries. (I’m making myself miss it.)
