What to put in coffee in the morning

(Debbie Fojtik) #1

I’ve have been admittedly screwing up on my keto the largest few months. We’ve been doing slot of work at a dead relative of my husband’s home and I will over do it on the cards every few weeks. I am making it my goal to do strictly keto this month.
My question is this: What should I put in my coffee in the morning. I usually do not eat until around 10 am so I really don’t want to break the fast.

Bacon.

When I was trying to lose weight, I would add a teaspoon of heavy cream, 1 packet of stevia and 1 teaspoon of coconut oil.

The stevia does spike insulin but I was willing to take the small hit since it’s my only indulgence in artificial sweeteners. The CO isn’t necessary but I like that it really perks me up mentally.

Now that I am in maintenance, the only difference is I use a tablespoon of heavy cream.

I now drink my coffee black, and I find I LIKE the taste of coffee. It took me a several brands to find a dark roast I love.

I don’t use the sweetners. I have a bad sweet tooth so I try to avoid them. I was doing heavy cream for a while bit I just stopped buying it.

I put a splenda packet, heavy whipping cream, pink salt and a dash of ginger in my coffee every morning. I wake up at 5:30 but don’t eat until around 8 and it tides me over.

I tried coffee with heavy cream after joining these forums, but it’s not really my thing, especially not in the morning. Hot and black, just as God created it. :coffee:

You may be on to something, there. Will have to try it! :coffee::bacon:

I use 1 squirt liquid stevia, 1 tbsp coconut oil, 3 tbsp 0 carb heavy whipping cream, and 1 tbsp butter if I know I won’t eat until dinner.

1 T hwc per cup along with a few liquid stevia drops, some vanilla, and cinnamon. Do a full bpc maybe once a week.

I use 10g hydrolysed collagen powder, 6g ghee, 6g coconut oil, 1 whole raw egg, some lite-salt, and blend. Occasionally a pinch of cinnamon too.

If you want to keep the fast going from the night before, Susan’s path is best–find a roast that tastes amazing all on its own so you can drink it black.

(Renu ) #12

Black coffee + 2 spoons coconut oil + 1 spoon butter + .5 spoon vanilla/chocolate essence.

Taste will take few days to grow… try for 3-4 days… and its goooddd !

Coffee. Do you need really more? Yes, cream in coffee taste good, so does oil and butter, but do you need it?

(Natasha) #14

2tbsp dark roast coffee made in a french press, then add 1tbsp double cream. I usually drink 2 of those for breakfast and it keeps me going until lunch.

War peace what is it. Coffee and absolutely nothing. Hrm probably screwed that up but thought I remembered a song like that.

What Susan says.

I used to put whole cinnamon sticks in my bean-grinder, it added just a touch of flavor (I think I need to try this again). I use a sweetener pack, 1T heavy cream, 1T coconut oil in a large cup. If I was dropping the sweetener, I might add a dash of vanilla for flavor instead. I generally don’t eat until lunch, two cups of this keep me going at least until 10 without thinking about it.

I don’t know how you people manage to make these complicated blends. I don’t have the energy to find ingredients to put in my coffee until I’ve had at least two cups. . . . :coffee::coffee:

I’ve been doing it for so long… :joy:
Prep the night before, next morning just add hot coffee and blend, done

I use Splenda and 1 scoop MCT powder. Sometimes add heavy whipping cream. I know a lot of people stay away from artificial sweeteners like Splenda, but I have been using it and continuing to lose weight so I am sticking with it! I am able to put off eating until noon or 1 PM with this every morning.
