Hey we are noticing that the “recipes” section is growing and growing and we are looking for ideas on how to manage things. The forum is searchable so you can find whatever you want but sometimes you want to browse recipes for ideas so we are looking to make that easier. What are catagories that make the most sense?
What do you think about adding categories in the recipe section?

It’s a start.
It may go beyond the scope of the software…It would be awesome if the recipes could have a rating system for people that have tried it.
You don’t know if you don’t ask.
Bear in mind we can ALSO set up tags specific to the recipe category … so you could tag a mole beef recipe with “Beef”, and “Chocolate”, and “Main” and “Mexican” and “slowcooker”
Keep it simple. I once read in a Cynthia Freeman novel: “there are two flavors in this world. Chocolate and other. I don’t do other.” LOL!
I do agree categories will help luddites like me who aren’t too good at searching tags.
Perhaps a chat category, for talk about food that isn’t specifically a recipe.
You can do that just under Food.
I think that is the key really - to have what the recipe is in the title and/or the tags. Then you can browse all the "beef’ recipes or look at ‘sous vide’, whatever. The problem with categorising is that a lot will fall under multiple headings.
I second that!
Many times i find myself looking for inspiration for side dishes. Or deserts It would be great, if we had a section where these meal types could be collected.
Alternatively, if creating additional sections might bring in more complexity, maybe creating a pinned post for different meal types might do the job, where we can link than to a recipe post.
Thinking of it, tags might do just as well
