What do you drink?

Mos def. And hungover for far less than seems fair!

Zevia (stevia-sweetened soda), flavored seltzer, homemade iced tea, cold brew coffee. Also–and I know lots of purists will be horrified at this because of the artificial ingredients–I sometimes buy those unsweetened kool-aid packets that are like 3 for a dollar and use liquid stevia to sweeten it.

I also make a version of the apple cider vinegar/lemonade-ish drink that lots of heath gurus recommend, and it’s super delicious:

Steep 2-4 ginger tea bags (depending on how much you like ginger) in a half-gallon jug. I use the celestial seasonings ginger turmeric tea, which also has cinnamon in it and is very tasty. Then I add 3 TB lemon juice, 6 TB apple cider vinegar, and liquid stevia to taste if you want it sweet. Put it in the fridge and let it chill. This will make a very concentrated beverage that you’ll probably want to thin out before drinking.

To drink, I thin it out with either water or unsweetened green tea to taste (1 part iced green tea to one part ginger/ACV/lemon juice stuff is my fave). The lemon juice and ACV bring the entire container to just under 3 carbs total, so each serving–unless you drink enormous servings–should be well under one carb.

I cant figure out how to quote people.

So having sweetener doesn’t effect going into ketosis, or delay weight loss? If it is just a matter of the body wanting more sweet stuff then I am ok with that

#24

Water
Cinnamon water
Aldi zero carb sparkling flavor water(White grape is my favorite, but I only have a small glass each day)
ACV in water
Iced coffee
Hot coffee
Hot tea
Iced tea

(Hoteski) #25

Water
Diet coke or coke zero
Brandy or vodka with diet coke if I’m out with my mates
Then just water and that’s about it

If you highlight their post, a popup will appear that says “quote.” This mystified me at first too. I’m not ashamed to admit it!

(RL) #27

Coffee, Water, Sparkling Water, & Crown Royal Black (straight on the rocks).

(KCKO, KCFO đŸ„„) #28

Yes, I am a really cheap date now with DH :smiley::joy:

I was use to having at least half the bottle of wine with my dinner, now one glass does it for me.

(Michelle) #29

Yes. Most definitely.

I drink coffee, water, and on Friday and Saturday 3 oz of bourbon max on the rocks. Jim Beam Devil’s Cut (which is infinitely better than four-year White labeled bottle).

Water, black coffee, and cooled white wine during this heatwave here in the UK. Will omit the white wine after tonight’s full moon and re-engage at new moon. Two weeks no wine, and step up excercise a little.
New Moon = Live a little, wine allowed. By the way, I am not trying to lose weight. I was often a 2-3 stones overweight, and went on a annual health spree in January, and usually got to a healthy weight by April. Then back to a unhealthy weight around December, although I was always eating healthy, as I thought.
Until I found LCHF diet info, a couple years ago. I found this way of eating and adapted it my way of living. Healthy weight stable. I then found Keto, weight stable feeling good. I thought if I feel good on low carb, why not go the distance and go zero carb. I find zero carb or carnivore good for me. No more counting macros.
I have no probs with maths, just not needed now.

Water
occasional cup of coffee or tea. But 95% of the time, just water.

(Gabe “No Dogma, Only Science Please!” ) #32

Water and sparkling water. Get a SodaStream. Seriously.

I drink Americano and occasionally “cheat” by having a short cappuccino made with half and half. I never sweeten my coffee, largely because milk (even half and half) is full of lactose, and after several months on low carb, it started tasting super sweet to me. However I will allow myself to have tea occasionally with some stevia.

Very, very occasionally I will allow myself to have a coke zero.

TL;DR: Get a SodaStream.

Water. One cup of coffee.

I LOVE my Pepsi- diet, of course. Many don’t want the aspartame, but I don’t care
I also like me some Jack Daniel in that Diet Pepsi!!

#36

A bottle of water with Mio Sport and a dash of table salt, at least three times a day.
Black tea with almond milk every morning, because I’m Irish and it’s almost mandatory to have a cuppa when you wake up.
An iced latte with almond milk and sugar-free vanilla syrup from Starbucks every once in a while.
Regular coffee with cream, if I’m out with friends at a cafe.
La Croix and Dasani sparkling water in various flavours, especially when the weather is hot.

I’ve been a teetotaler for years, so alcohol isn’t really a factor.

I used to have two spoons of sugar in my tea, and four spoons in coffee, and now I can’t tolerate anything bar a little milk or cream in either. It’s amazing to me how much my taste has changed.

Thanks for all the suggestions. For me drinking calories has always been my biggest issue so I am happy to have some calorie free suggestions in here.

(Jason) #38

I just bought some propel water. It is ok. I figured with all the mentions of losing electrolytes it might be a good drink to have.

(Brian) #39

Coffee with heavy whipping cream and vanilla stevia sweetener, but only with meals. Otherwise it’s either plain water or water infused with real lemons which can be anytime of the day or night. I don’t use artificial sweeteners other than at meals. (That’s just how I roll.)

Water and cold (iced) green tea.
