What did you learn today?

(Laurie) #845

This should be one of our 3 basic rules, or 5 simple rules, or whatever. Then you don’t eat a bunch of “keto” foods or “allowed” foods and then wonder why your numbers are weird at the end of the day.

Uh, what did I learn today? Heating this stuff in the microwave is way easier, smoother, and possibly tastier than making your own cocoa drink. Feel free to add stevia, a pinch of salt, powdered ginger, etc. (Look for the bright pink “UNSWEETENED” label at the top of the container.)

Kneel, Brothers and Sisters, and lettuce spray! Can I hear Amen!

(Running from stupidity) #847

Yup. If you’re not tracking, you’re guessing. [1]

[1] Unless you’ve memorised it all, obviously.

I learned that if I eat too much salt on a fast that I can’t sleep. Actually I already knew that. Im in the minority that does have sodium sensitive blood pressure. And if I can’t sleep well then going to work sucks and is probably dangerous for someone else. So fast over, midnight snack, better luck next time. Next time I won’t make that error, I’ll make a different one!

So i weighed it instead of going by packaging amount and it said 137 grams. So i actually ate 137 grams of fresh raspberries which is just over 6 ounces. I added a tbsp of heavy cream over top but your right… It looks small in size…but 137 grams is actually very filling! I think next time i will just make some whip cream or eat with cheese. and half the amount. I dont plan on making berries a staple as they are quite expensive being out of season here.

Trade ya… im opposite… I need 5 grams of salt according to my Cardiologist, to balance my blood pressure and help maintain blood volume apparently…
It feels impossible to get that much… and thats without factoring Keto into it

forget prayer…he’s gonna need straight deliverence from the nostrils!

(Running from stupidity) #852

It’s crazy deceptive. Although, these days, to me 50g looks like a huge amount due to usually doing 30g.

(Empress of the Unexpected) #853

Kitty is not perfect. :scream:

#854

Wash your mouth out :scream_cat:

(Empress of the Unexpected) #855

Forget my mouth - I’m washing the sheets out. Thank God Saul is clueless, since yesterday was sheet washing day. He’s a guy so won’t wonder why sheets are being cleaned two days in a row. And poor Juice, with his fancy sheets - even he might have a cow.

#856

Oh OK. That’s a bit different!

More to sous vide

(Running from stupidity) #857

This is blatant sexism. I’d notice, BECAUSE I’D BE WASHING THEM

THIS!

Ok - back story for the cat-lovers. I had an aged (17) year old indoor-outdoor cat. He started peeing in the corner. My daughter conned me into taking two kittens. They peed in the same spot. (Salem left us two years ago, he got too inquisitive.) I do not do litter boxes. Anyway, Zaaz was an outdoor cat, then I started cautiously letting her in. Right about the time she got a bladder infection. Vet cleared it up but I was spooked. Finally decided she would be a true indoor outdoor cat. It’s been almost a year and only two mistakes. One, in the bathroom (well she was close) and tonight, because she was sleeping on her back for like 14 hours on the bed, well you get the idea. She has a cat door and knows how to use it. But hey, when you wake up groggy…

(Running from stupidity) #859

It’s a good idea for cats, though.

(Empress of the Unexpected) #860

You come to my house and clean it!

(Carl Keller) #861

It’s Monday is a very valid reason not to go to work. I insist on being off on Mondays. It’s the best day to get things done while the rest of the world is out working.

Awesome idea! Thanks for sharing that.

I learned that Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell is apparently still in vogue with the SCOTUS if you’re openly trans, and that Crybaby Kavanaugh can kiss the darkest part of my white
ass
yet again.

(Ellen) #863

Just read about that, don’t want to get this thread too political again but…

That Darjeeling tea is known as ‘The Champagne of Teas’.

I’m guessing that’s because ‘The Dishwater of Teas’ would harm sales.
