What did you Keto today?

(Ernest) #7417

I do this keto lifestyle differently.
I’m not afraid of protein
Don’t go seeking carb alternatives
Don’t weigh myself
Don’t obsess over ketone readings
Don’t look at the sun for meal timing
I just eat protein and fat when hungry.

BUT! I insist on real food, cooked at home. And that’s why I cook.

#7418

that is the way I do it also, weight, test, count monitor absolutely nothing!

(Steve) #7419

Heh. A lot of us like a lot of variety in our diet - hence looking at alternative foods that could be complementary to the Ketogenic diet.

To each their own…

Ditto!!!

(Ernest) #7421

That’s right.
I’ve tried that but I discovered that it is a rabbit hole. LOL.

(TJ Borden) #7422

I’ll ditto @rustyk61’s ditto. When I started I was focused on finding alternatives, but as time passes, I just don’t care about that stuff. I haven’t made a fathead pizza in months now, nothing wrong with them, I’m just much more satisfied with a simple pile of ground beef.

Speaking of which…

A full pound of 80/20 hamburger steak seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, and hatch chili powder, with a couple eggs and shredded mozzarella all mixed in, pan fried in bacon nectar, topped with slices of cheddar, and finished with a dollop of homemade avocado oil mayo…okay two dollops…FINE, three dollops. It’s three dollops okay!!!

Faux dirty rice!!!

(Ernest) #7424

So anyway…

Classic, and getting to the “That Old-Time Ernest Religion.” :sunglasses:

Only thing I would make sure to be aware of at chipotle is the sour cream is low fat, I asked when I was there a few weeks ago :frowning:

This is what’s on their website and in their MFP entry.

(Ashley) #7428

Huh, weird, I’ve been there a few times now because of convenience and everytime I’m told it’s low fat, the one I go to you can even tell it looks different. Maybe mine is just different

Might be their employees are misled because they are told what they think customers want to hear.

I do chipotle frequently. Very workable, especially if you hold to 30g carbs a day and aren’t wigged about legumes (like me).

(Ashley) #7430

There were even using like a plastic ketchup type bottle and it was just watery crap which is why I asked them.

(Ashley) #7431

It definitely could be, I will have to keep that in mind for next time! I like chipotle for its ease. Not a everyday thing but I could definitely do once a month.

When I’m not cooking, I do it maybe two-three times a week. Wingstop is my other jam. It’s half a mile to walk to either one, since I go to one of the two further Chipotles near work. Get 2000 Steps at lunch. Not bad. A regular Tim Ferriss x Jared Fogle mix up.

That seems sketchy. The Chicago area ones scoop it from a bin on the line.

(Ashley) #7434

I have heard of wing stop but I don’t think we have them here. But have heard a lot of people talk about them!

(Ashley) #7435

Yeah no bin was in sight. At first I thought they had none.

I might opt for the Queso if the sour cream is dodgey. But then I’ve read that the queso isn’t good. Alternatively, I’d just get guac in place of the crema.
