What did you Keto today?

(Candy Lind) #5063

Your steaks always look so beautiful - have you shared your cooking method anywhere? I have a ribeye that needs some love.

(Candy Lind) #5064

Did you just deglaze, sautĆ© garlic & add everything else? I love capers but haven’t done much with them myself, so I don’t know if it’s better to simmer them for a while or just dump them in at the end.

PS Your pic was fine - my mouth is watering!

I had an intense craving for salami, but somehow ended up with tuna salad…

(Candy Lind) #5066

How big a piece of pork belly can you do, in what size IP? I’ve been wanting to get pork belly but was unsure what I could do with it besides oven bake.

(Candy Lind) #5067

What all was in it? Looked good.

#5068

I have the 6 quart instant pot and I am going to guess it’s a 4 lb pork belly or so - depends on thickness - it covered the bottom. I may try to stack two of them and extend the time by a bit. If I experiment I’ll let you know.

You do know you can cube it up and fit several pounds in a medium Instant Pot, right?

(Ethan) #5072

It’s all chemicals…Look at the ingredients.

(Candy Lind) #5073

I was just thinking I’d like longish slices, but yes, I could cube it up like I do with shoulder roast.

Definitely a day for a nice thick stew.

Me too, hour 68 here!

I really don’t do anything special.

  1. heat cast iron pan (to the point just before your butter or bacon juice start to smoke.
  2. Season steak with your seasoned salt of choice and pepper…Rub it in.
  3. Pan fry for 4 min’s per side. This is based on a 3/4" (19.05mm) thk chuck or ribeye steak.
  4. when it comes out of the pan, add Kerrygold.
  5. Enjoy

Very simple

Pretty much. I’m sure there’s a better/more gourmet way of doing it. There was still plenty of juice in the pan so I added the garlic and cream, reduced it, added some xanthem gum and capers, let it simmer for a bit and poured it over the chicken. It was pretty tasty

An instapot might need to be my next ā€œmedical equipmentā€ expense.

7-6-5 Grilled Pork Loin with Bearnaise (for days!) and steamed broccoli.

eta: Yeah, I did go back and throw some of the extra sauce on that broccoli!
