LOL. I recently discovered that I like salmon. I bought a small fryer a week ago and can’t wait to try that in there although pan fried in butter was darn good too. The fryer is an air fryer but I think you can do more things in it than a deep fryer. Also want to see about making jicama fries. As for the wings, they were on sale and are again for $6. For an almost 3-pound bag split and tips removed so that’s a great price. That’s at Freshco for anyone in Ontario LOL.
ok i picked myself up a .75 lb chuck delmonico steak for lunch tomorrow. It appears you do your in pan on stove top, what do you use for oil/butter. I would think straight butter would burn… dont have a cast iron yet so will be doing in regular fry pan…any and all tips appreciated
I use bacon juice or butter. It really depends on how much bacon juice I have on hand. I find that bacon juice cooks hotter than butter. The butter I use cooks cooler. I also use my cast iron to cook in. Can’t imagine using anything less than that. The key is to not over cook it. The chuck steak can get tough if you cook it past med rare. I don’t cook it past rare. Mine are always juicy, red, and delicious. Add jalapeños and it’s the perfect Keto steak!
ok, cool looking forward to this, i also assume fresh jalapenos…
by the way ever hear of a western grill steak ??? also bought one of those from my butcher in his case so couldn’t ask what cut it was from.
I have not heard of that one. I would guess it’s some sort of top round steak which equates to not enough fat. Make sure you take pictures.
I’m teasing it … it may not happen in the next 2KD podcast cos apparently everyone wants to hear me talk about cheesey balls.
I think @Daisy, @LouiseReynolds and @Karen are inventing some kind of drinking game over the recipe, or something.
My mom’s side is McAulay. No real recipe. I just cut up bacon, cooked in a cast iron pan, then tossed in scrambled eggs and stuck it in my toaster oven at 350F for about 15ish minutes. You can add whatever you’d like to frittata’s. I’ve done tomatoes, spinach, green beans. I’ve done ground beef which ended up more like a casserole. One of my favorite Keto meals.
Fried eggs and green leaf lettuce + olive oil and seasonings. Also, weird but good is just soft butter mixed with cocoa powder and sweetener! Buttercream is delish by itself.
