What did you Keto today?

(Sophie) #4135

Made my first Beef Tongue today! :stuck_out_tongue:
Figured I’d better at least try one since I requested all that my friend wanted to give me when she has her cows slaughtered. :smirk:

Turned out very tasty. I still have to get my head around the nubby texture on the outside but the flavor is really close to Ox Tails to me. And Lucy Loved It too! :dog:

Curry Lamb Shank from Keto Connect on top of some Miracle Noodle fettuccine (sauce was still thickening).

(I want abs... olutely all the bacon) #4139

Smoked ducks, our first run in a new smoker

(Ernest) #4140

Hey get a spoon! Beef kidneys, mushrooms and kale.
Cooked in some curry and beef tallow.
I served it in a hot plate to keep the tallow liquidy.

Yum… you are brilliant!

(Rob) #4142

I’m sure it was lovely but it does look like you are cooking an embryonic Alien. I expect the second photo to hatch and various sets of mandibles extend from it’s head end!

(Sophie) #4143

It really wasn’t as nasty as that. :stuck_out_tongue:

(Rob) #4144

I quite like tongue since my mum was always a ‘nose to tail’ kinda gal so we had various weird meats in the house… but ever since Aliens, I can’t look at a tongue without thinking of that thing!

(Sophie) #4145

Nice try but you haven’t ruined it for me. :smirk:

(Rob) #4146

My cunning plan for your beef tongue offcuts is foiled :triumph:

(Candy Lind) #4147

Oh, @richard you naughty boy!

(Candy Lind) #4148

Free protein - what’s not to love? How did you cook it - did you simply roast it? Any special seasonings?

(Candy Lind) #4149

I had most of a T-bone steak fried in bacon grease & a pile of asparagus (buttered), plus some flackers & butter. Forgot to take a picture!

(Gabriel G.) #4150

Smoke for 3 hours. Wrap in foil for 2 hours. Rest for 1 hour.

(Ernest) #4151

doesn’t get hot enough for deep frying

(Sophie) #4152

Nothing special, just in the crock pot for 8hrs.

(Sophie) #4153

I’m making a note of this for when I get my hands on some green hickory sticks! :+1:

(G. Andrew Duthie) #4154

Leftover bacon and sausage, plus half a low carb flax muffin with cream cheese icing (sweetened with powdered Swerve).

Cream cheese icing is one of my very favorite things, and the fact that I can easily make it keto is awesome.

Veggie soup earlier to break 88 hour fast. Then fettuccine alfredo with chicken and veg using konjac zero carb noodles. Noodles weren’t bad. The texture was a bit off, a bit gelatinous but otherwise good. Worth it to enjoy the dish as a whole.
