@Shortstuff
Thought you’d like to know I’m just about to get off my lazy butt and go make some ghee
What is the benefit of ghee? Honest question, because I have no idea.
I have no idea, except I know I can put it in my coffee without adding carbs or having dairy. Now I can use my fast to do a true dairy elimination to see if that helps, and I don’t have to give up my morning coffee ritual.
One thing that should be included in the directions is not to lick the spoon after stirring simmering butter. I’m pretty sure I heard my tongue sizzling.
I didn’t have any plain coffee left in the pot, so I added a bit of ghee to my cup that had some leftover coffee and HWC in it. Not sure that was a good idea…tastes really weird! I’ll do a proper trial tomorrow morning.
I think it’s some kind of western adaptation, I have never seen Indian people making dark brown ghee, it’s always a light yellow color. Brown butter tastes good, but it’s easy to do that fresh in the pan if you want it.
Ok, I made a small batch, so it shouldn’t be long before I try again. I think I might have been doing it at too high a temp, maybe. My stupid little single burner only uses numbers (1, 2, 3) to indicate heat, instead of actual temperatures. Maybe I’ll get a thermometer after all.
