Compliments of my hens and the grocery store for the charcuterie
What Did You Keto Today? The Trilogy!
Friday dinner:
Merguez meatballs (made with ground goat), sour cream/olive dip, cheese crisps, avocado & fermented veggies
It’s not as much as it looks like, I finished it without being stuffed and had no night sweats. I felt pretty good actually, I think my body wanted the protein. It was fun having so many meat flavors together. Probably less than a pound of meat there for sure. I did enjoy the kraut! I could have eaten more of it. I need to repopulate my gut biome with probiotics to help me deal with vegetables again. So far so good, less bloating and gas from them than I had in the hospital.
Cutting board picnic for lunch today. My favorite kind of meal is one I can pick at for a while. This time I’ve got kimchi, Baby Bell cheese, dill havarti, green olives, broccoli, Braunschweiger, artichoke dip, guacamole and pork rinds. I’m making a big dinner but I’m not sure I’ll be able to eat any of it. We’re about an hour away and I’m still really full.
I love a meat platter, it looked delicious! I’m a fan of meat sweats, the regular ones, of course…I love my meat
Sounds like a good plan with Sauerkraut, my husband’s been on so many AB these past few month (e.coli UTI and tonsillitis), I made him homemade yogurt, but I’ll add some sauerkraut, thanks for the reminder
An old family recipe that is kind of a Filipino adobo and Portuguese vinha d’alhos hybrid with a side of sautéed cabbage. So, it tasted ok, but this was my first meal using coconut aminos in place of tamari, as I’m trying to cut all soy from my diet. I don’t know you guys. This is going to be a tough one I think.
Instead of coconut amino’s why not try Braggs amino’s it doesn’t have the coconut taste it has a similar soy taste.
yuuuuum. Looks great. May I ask, do you eat 2x meals a day, breakfast and dinner?
Unfortunately the Braggs aminos are a soy product, which I’m eliminating completely from my diet to manage estrogen. The switch from soy sauce to tamari to kick the gluten was fine. I’ve come to enjoy the stronger flavor quite a bit. But these coconut aminos are sweet, almost cloying.
@Wahinewanders Brandy do you think they would work well for Chinese food? It almost always uses a sweetener to balance soy. I’ve been reluctant to spend the money to buy any because they’re expensive, I might hate it, and I have a Taiwanese Blackbean Sauce that’s only beans, salt and water that I really like. And I use so little of it too. But I’m also trying to keep the soy out for similar reasons of hormonal balance. I’m doing standard KETO again now so I’ll probably get into cooking more Asian food this spring.
@David_Stilley You know what? I think so actually! I hadn’t considered the Chinese dishes, but I betcha it’d work great. Maybe I’ll fart around in the kitchen with it a bit and see what I can come up with. Stay tuned!
Oh- And I’m so glad you’re home and on the mend.
Sunday keto burgers!
Ground chuck with salt and pepper, homemade bbq sauce, cheddar, some of the @carl Ketoky coleslaw to top it off.
