Is this serious? That seems like an enormous amount of food to me. Granted I’m a small guy. 5’5" and hovering around 124 pounds. I think that would be 3 meals for me.
What Did You Keto Today? The Trilogy!
Just caught Mr S suffering new-to-keto delirium on encountering a scrap of polystyrene on the floor of his studio.
‘Cake…’? he said!
He’s doing really well though - he’s been on this WOE since Monday evening and is hoping to stick with it!
And he didn’t eat this ‘cake’!
My repair shop leftovers - the rest of my coffee with macadamia milk, cream, & cocoa; ribs lightly sauced, collards with blue cheese dressing (The collards were completely unseasoned! Necessity is the mother of invention, and I must say it was quite good - but left me without “dip” for my ribs. LOL!); not pictured were black & green olives & cheddar cheese. If that’s not enough I have an avocado to cut into.
wait, aren’t you suppose to be in a canoe?
I guess roasts will just have to be slow cooked then. I have no plans to get a sous vide. (please no one try to talk me into one, I am clear that I currently do not want it)
But I will report on the short ribs that I will do tomorrow …
We have driven from NW Ohio to Florida a couple of times recently. The last time we went we ate at a bbq place in Tifton called the Pit Stop. It was just off of 75, best smoked chicken wings I’ve ever had!
Boo hoo! I am. But circumstances have put the trip off for a while. I’m still hoping I get at least a shorter camping trip sometime later this week.
I plan to do more oven attempts and I’ll report if I get any good results with those cuts.
Friday lunch (hungry): COLD ground beef and salt (no cheese). The cold rendered fat gave it such an interesting … crunch? … that I really liked**. lol
** yes, I know … I am weird.
Or am I?
Lovely lunch with a friend. Avocado and prawns in a cream and mozarella sauce with salad. Very nice.
Me too! Took it away from him just in case he was actually going to eat it!
Seriously though, he’s doing really well. His energy levels used to crash regularly, and he would instantly reach for a Twix, or some juice, or some cake. This week though it’s been all about Peperami, cheese and keto rolls.
He’s eaten keto evening meals for a while now - he hasn’t asked me to cook pasta or rice or potatoes for ages - and he has scrambled eggs for breakfast. The sticking point has been lunch and on-the-go snacks. But since Monday he’s really really engaged with it, and I know he’s only four days in but he’s not been crashing. He’s gone from 14st 10lb to 14st 1lb already, which is great because he’s been feeling that his moobs aren’t a great addition to his nearly 6ft 5in frame.
I am gonna try this with some lamb this weekend…hoping it will bring me back to the lamb of yesteryear as this way of cooking really intensifies flavour. Even though I buy grass fed it doesn’t taste the same as it does when I was a kid!
Will let you know how it goes
Hey @Jody22, I thought you were weird when you started on the chaffles!
you mean it didn’t start with the toe thing??
But honestly, I know I have weird food taste … and never afraid to try things … even the “weird” stuff (century egg, balut, durian, pig blood pho, blood budin, various insects … just to list a few).
Yes Sir, it was only two cans of Vienna’s, Spam and some Sardines. (Plus Almonds) Actually it’s quite small when compared to some meals. - Just looks like more in the image.
Today’s last minute lunch… Didn’t want to go the all can route too much, so ran out and picked up some Double Cheese Burgers, along with a Pepperoni and Cheese cup, two cans of Potted Meat with some Pork Rinds and a Watermelon Bai.
