What Did You Keto Today? The Trilogy!

(Susan) #2917

I just check all the threads I follow all the time =). My grand daughter is eating a white Mr.Freeze beside me (Jumbo size pack from Costco) and I love them, hahaha, I am not eating any, but I am more tempted by that then by any other carby stuff. I love the smell, and the taste… oh well, haha.

Forgot to post my meal from work earlier, (happening a lot lately?) … then got home and went straight out to cut grass and then jumped in the Garden. So today’s OMAD… Ran out and picked up some stuff. Salad with Eggs and Chicken, Pepperoni, Swiss Cheese, Roast Beef, Pickles, little bit fake crab meat :face_with_raised_eyebrow: and Pork Rinds with Potted Meat and a Coconut Bai.

@Relic Tried to pick up some more Pickled Sausages today, but they were sold out. Only had Pickled Eggs and Pickled Pigs Feet. But remembered I posted them in the old ‘What did you Keto today’ thread, so went back and located it. Hope this helps. I think they carry them at Foodlion, Shoppers, etc.

Well that blew your carbs today. Was it ungodly sweet? Surimi usually has sugar or HFCS in it. :scream: :cowboy_hat_face:

(Doug) #2920

Sirloin steak (in the shape of a beaverbear or something) and jalapeño peppers.

(Brandy) #2921

I’m always on this thread when I fast. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

(Brandy) #2922

Buttered rib eyes and hot bacon slaw really wake up the taste buds

(Little Miss Scare-All) #2923

:rofl::rofl::rofl:
Doug!!! Did you run out of peppers?! What’s the meaning of this?!?!

(Doug) #2924

(Little Miss Scare-All) #2925

Now THAT’S more like it!!:rofl::rofl:

It’s a beaverbear in it’s natural foresty habitat.

Worthy of the Turner Prize!

(Ellen) #2929

I can never unsee the face in that steak.

('Jackie P') #2930

Elephant man!

(Allie) #2931

Absolute black!

Green & Blacks is too high in carbs and sweet for my linking, Moser Roth just not nice. Not tried the other though. I tend to opt for Lindt 90%

#2932

Yeah, it was a little sweet, but I only had a couple pieces. I couldn’t recall if I had ever eating it before, so just wanted to try it. … Wasn’t that good, and nothing like the real thing.

Made this yesterday.
Broccoli and Bacon Cheese Bakes (Keto)

Carbs 4.9g (2.5%); Fat 74g (90.5%); Protein 13g (7%)

11.99 oz broccoli florets (trimmed weight)
1 tsp olive oil
3.17 oz streaky smoked bacon finely chopped
16.23 oz double cream
salt and white pepper
pinch ground nutmeg
2.12 oz full-fat Cheddar cheese grated
smoked sea salt flates
freshly ground black pepper
fresh thyme to garnish (optional)

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C / 355°F.
  • Trim the broccoli into small, even-sized pieces. It’s important that they are trimmed small, as they can ‘fill’ the space in the little dishes adequately.
  • Bring a large pan of salted water to the boil. Add the broccoli florets and boil for 4 minutes only.
  • Drain in a colander and allow to steam off completely.

In the meantime, heat the olive oil in a pan and fry the bacon pieces until crispy. Set aside.
At this time, you can also place the double cream in a pan and add the salt, white pepper and ground nutmeg. There is no need to bring it to a boil, just gently warm through while you whisk to combine using a silicon-tipped whisk (to protect your non-stick pan).

Place four small dishes onto a tray. Divide the broccoli and bacon pieces between the four dishes. (I did this by ‘layering’ the broccoli and bacon, but I am not sure it makes much of a difference - as long as the broccoli and bacon pieces are evenly distributed.)

Use a ladle to pour the warm, seasoned cream into each dish. Place the tray into the oven for 20 minutes. (We use a tray for safer removal and in case any cream bubbles over.)

After 20 minutes, remove the tray from the oven and increase the oven temperature to 200°C / 390°F.

Divide the grated Cheddar over all four dishes. Return the tray to the oven for an additional 10-12 minutes to melt and gratin the cheese.

Carefully remove the hot tray and season the dishes with smoked sea flakes and freshly ground black pepper. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves (and please remember the little pots are HOT!)

Haha! Love the peppers but I also got excited thinking there was a bonus sausage link on the far right end of the cutting board!

('Jackie P') #2935

I tend to agree about the Green & Black, sometimes 1 square hits the spot!. But I really like the Moser Roth. I quite like Lindt, but the Montezuma is a step too far for me!:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Montezuma is a step WAY too far for me!
