I only had an early dinner yesterday.

It was just the start… I had sardines, way more eggs and more quark afterwards. The meat is tiny because it’s very fatty and I can’t afford even this much… It would be nice if it could satiate me well as it’s very cheap and calorie dense, simply to make and I love it… We will see, I do my OMAD experiments now. It would be nice if I could lower my protein intake (at least sometimes) without being hungry at night… But I don’t believe in that much. Oh well, I will get some leaner pork later. I have certain supply problems right now. I managed to get some chicken but that is quite fatty too so it won’t help me out…

Today I eat very similarly but less sardines and quark as I start to run out. Less meat if I can do it as well as it’s not good for my protein/energy ratio.

The pork butts turned out purdy tasty. Fat well-rendered, bark supremely delectable.

(Robin) #66

If I were single I would be tracking you down, just for those pork butts…

Ha ha ha!

Oh I didn’t put my pretty chicken leg here yet
It’s a thing here to include some back part of the chicken to the juicy parts of the leg  (The feet are for weirdos, they are very numerous in my country. Even Grandma loved it, no idea why. I only like parts with meat, I don’t even like pig’s feet, it’s beloved too as it belongs to aspic. I am fine with the jelly I get whenever I cook meat  Aspic is great but I don’t bother with it and I only like the one with much meat. Skin is fine but meat should be presented generously as well.)

It was on sale and it was the ONLY not super dried out sorry sight in the little village supermarket and I started to run out of my meat…
But it was good! I am not into chicken, it’s usually not very tasty and it can’t satiate me but this was pretty nice. They aren’t all the same, not even the cheap supermarket ones.

Of course, pork is overwhelmingly superior if you ask me, I had that too. I need to eat something with chicken as I ate 1 kg of it multiple times (always legs with skin so it was a substantial meal already) and it never did very much to my hunger, I had to eat a bunch of other stuff afterwards. So I only had one leg, 350g very fatty meat, nice but feels like a little snack. It surely didn’t lasted for long…

I still can’t make the skin crispy so I did the usual, took it off and fried in a pan. Only the most roasted part was fine, not fully crispy as I like but good enough. I just stopped after 1.5 hours, it’s tender chicken, I don’t roast it for longer.

I have another leg for today’s dinner. And I give the smallest one to my SO. He is not a big meat eater but progressed nicely since my first carnivore trial.

As I had my Nearly Unsatiable Day yesterday and I specifically wanted meat (but what else could I have eaten along with my 11 eggs anyway), the chicken leg came handy. I had a substantial amount of fatty pork too.

Lunch.

Buttered cabbage with pine nuts and pan fried smoked haddock.

Cooked up a creamy lamb and spinach curry today.

Doesn’t look too sexy in this shot for some reason. Far more vibrant in real life. Ah well xD

(Robin) #72

You could say the same about me

I just picked this up at a local farm shop. Crazy expensive but I know it’ll be amazing so a nice treat. They raise and process all their own animals which can be seen out in fields enjoying happy lives and that makes a massive difference.

Girl your food is always inspiring!!!

You know I find the same issue. I can eat chicken to a grotesque extent. It’s like the satiety doesn’t register or maybe it’s the fact it’s so palatable with the skin. I don’t know but I eat way too much ans when I do the math the protein levels are way too high when I eat chicken.

It costs as much as ribeye here then. I didn’t try neither, veal or ribeye…

I eat mouflon (it’s a pretty sheep, we have several in the wildlife park nearby) today, photo later. My SO cooked it. It’s based on tuh’u, the oldest known recipe from Babylonia! We skipped all the greens and most onion relatives and the beer but it was good last time from beef (getting mutton isn’t as simple… not like I can get beef in the nearby little towns and villages but it’s easy in the city) and we are looking forward to try it more properly…
It has beetroot, A LOT. I thought it won’t be a keto day as beetroot is very sugary and sweet but nope, it’s not too bad. We will see.

The former. What it means palatable, I never got it, tasty? Pork is way tastier. I actually don’t like chicken but once in a blue moon it can be kind of nice. Not nearly as good as my favs but okay and I enjoy the different textures. Chicken is tender and feels like almost nothing so I easily eat much of it. Nowadays I eat half a pound of pork and I feel stuffed for an hour!
I don’t want to overeat protein too much (it’s wasteful) but actually it’s okay here and there, I physically can’t eat too much protein to the point of feeling bad. When I eat chicken galore, the problem is never protein, it’s overeating fat therefore calories.

Gorgeous bowl.

Decided it would be the best idea to just stop caring about IF whilst healing from my surgery so aside from not eating late in the evening, I’m just eating as and when I please.

Immensely enjoying having a good dose of cream in my morning coffee, and had a breakfast of some macadamias and just a tiny bit of bitter chocolate. Finished the left over lamb curry from yesterday for lunch today.

Dinner:

Gorgeous pork belly with crackling, and half of one of my baby skillet frittatas, made with asparagus, spinach, garlic and goat cheese. All with a blob of messily mixed mustard mayo ; )

(Robin) #79

Pork belly. Just the words make me happy. In fact, going out to my fave restaurant for those tonight.

(Allie) #81

And here it is cooked :star_struck:

Breakfast.
