I put coronation chicken on my summer meal rotation. looking forward to it
What Did You Keto Today? Part IV
Which recipe do you use for the coronation chicken? I’d never heard of it… looked it up… and looks delicious! Looks like an easy dish to keto-fy
Yeah, yeah Saturday Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday…What’s the diff? I guess my visitor is tomorrow!
I’d love to report that it’s the authentic version from 1953 - this is literally just the meat from some roasted chicken thighs, curry powder, mayonnaise, finely chopped herbs and pepper, and i always add a bit of yoghurt if the consistency is ‘tight’. Too much yoghurt on this occasion!
I used to put sultanas in for Mr S (but I wouldn’t eat them), but I don’t do that now. Sometimes I’ll add a tiny amount of Splenda for an edge of sweetness, although I didn’t for this batch.
Can you try using 1.5 or 2x the powder in the same amount of liquid? Do you mind showing the ingredients & nutrition panel? I’m simply obsessively curious!
I doubled up what they advised and still tastes of nothing so going forward I’ll use it up in my coffee. Apparently it’s meant to be flavourless but I don’t see how that can be possible if it’s made of bones
The label is tiny! My camera won’t even focus on it.

I’m experimenting with “wonder bread” Chaffles this morning. My trouble is that all the recipes are set up for Dash Mini and I have a bigger one. I’m going to see if I can find a couple today. Oh, and I’ll report in the Savory Chaffle thread how I liked each recipe.
Hot pillowy ham chaffle sandwiches with button mushrooms in a Stilton and cream sauce.
BEST
SUNDAY
LUNCH
EVER!
Oh yum! Raw shrimp, tail on, painted in melted butter, popped in a 400% oven until pink and curled, dipped in butter and lemon. Absolutely fantastic flavor, nutty and buttery, and the scent… heavenly! And half an avocado. I totally pigged out!
LOL, I use the recipe from a Jane Garmey recipe/cookbook from 1982. ketofied, I don’t add chutney or dried fruit. One is too sweet for me and the other I dislike.
The sauce is so awesome, I can eat it on all the things!
It’s AMAZING on/with/mashed up in hardboiled eggs too - mmmmh!
I might have to Google some more of Her Majesty-inspired recipes now - my mouth is watering. Oh, speaking of royalty, and eggs, there’s a recipe called ‘Eggs Drumkilbo’ which apparently was a favourite of the Queen Mother - might have to give that a go sometime…
I reckon any combo of chaffle, cream and cheese is going to be a winner, Aimee!!! Wish I’d made twice as much lunch as I actually did… I could SO eat that all over again. Mind you, it’s only a couple of hours until supper time, so I guess I’ll hold out for yesterday’s leftover coronation chicken!
