How much carb/fiber is in that, & do you like them cold & straight out of the can? (Well, I suppose it’s obvious you do or you wouldn’t have it on the table! DOH!

(Candy Lind) #987

I am on a hungry cycle, so I had a snack last night when the servers were down.

It’s bacon bakin’ day (I procrastinated), also Chaffle-making day, so I’ve been dancing back & forth across the kitchen. I had six pieces of bacon left from my old batch (gotta FIFO, ya know), so I took a fresh Chaffle & made a giant BLT (traditional, no “O” today!).

Here’s the first 4.5 of 9 pounds of bacon. It cooked faster today for some reason. I’m about to become fed up with this cheap stove full of hot spots. Not a great time to replace appliances, however. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

lol, i do like them. For the WalMart brand, there is 10 total carbs and 5 fiber (net 5) for the entire can.

(Susan) #989

How do you know this, Allie? Do they taste differently? Are you going to let any of the eggs hatch into chicks?

#990

Thanks, I’ve always liked bacon wrapped hotdogs on the Rotisserie. But I only do so with the larger 1/4 lb. Hotdogs.

Yesterday’s meals, since the site was un-accessible to me yesterday.

Lunch… 6 Scrambled Eggs with Ketchup for flavor and some Bacon…

Dinner… BBQ Pulled Pork and a couple Pickled Sausages…

(Allie) #991

If you look at the two on the left you’ll see small white circles on them both, that’s the part that would grow into a chick.

No I can’t let any hatch Susan. It’s very tempting and if I knew absolutely without a doubt that I would only hatch hens then I would, but I couldn’t keep another rooster so it wouldn’t be right to hatch.

Sounds like the beginning of a keto version of “My Favorite Things”. :joy::joy:

Absolutely Jax, I’m not gardening! :joy::joy::joy::wink:

My landlord asked if he could put a couple of raised beds in the space on the side of my house. His daughter lives in a smaller unit up front and it’s supposed to be her’s to take care of but she’s young and flaky so I’ve saved it a few times when it was hot and the baby lettuce was going to die because she didn’t water. There’s green beans and tomatoes too and I can pick from the plants so no cost free food ahead! :cowboy_hat_face:

Been eating in a 4 hr. window here lately… Lunch, Dungeness Crab and Shrimp. Planning on cooking out on the grill here shortly, but need to cut the grass first. Rains again tomorrow.

#994

Since I could not post yesterday, two dinners: Salmon with butter and lemon ( I so love this!), mushrooms and asparagus.

And yesterday: Salmon on Romaine lettuce with mayo, chaffle, mixed pickled veggies (didn’t eat the carrots), olives and for desert, strawberries and whipped cream, or rather, whipped cream with strawberries.

Coronation chicken and salad. Yum! Bit sloppy but never mind (smaller pack of thighs but same volume of sauce. D’oh!).

A lovely salad with avocado, crispy pancetta and piri piri chicken, topped with chilli mayo :yum:! Pure bliss

Zuppa Toscana soup with kale and spinach from the garden and subbed garden radishes for the potatoes.

Saturday Breakfast

Dairy Omelette w/ Compté Cheese and Sour Cream cooked in Butter.

yesterday’s dinner was pot roast with turnip home fries, collards and cauliflower mash. I went to my visit my son, his mom and her husband in the mountains where I used to live. Nice visit and the first time to spend significant time with him since February. No pics.

Fantastic news, @David_Stilley - so pleased you’ve spent some time with Steven!

And enjoy your evening this evening! Sounds fun!

Well, I know that in these strange pandemic times one day is much like another - but I’m pretty sure today is still only Saturday here in UK…!

Garden bounty lettuce, cilantro (mine only) and radishes.

Spaghetti with Rao marinara and shredded cabbage for “noodles”

Dinner… Grilled goodies from the grill. - Couple Hamburgers w/ Cheese & Bacon, two 1/4 lb. Hotdogs and piece of the Top Sirloin after Sous Vide. (Love burgers on the grill… but hate cooking them on the grill too. - Sometimes too many flames, or too early. Makes for some extra careful cooking sometimes

Dinner:

Sesame pork with riced cauliflower
