What Did You Keto Today? Part IV

food

Absolutely - any size you like! This made four very generous portions (probably six would have been more normal, but hey, we were hungry) - and we’re having the leftovers for lunch tomorrow! The amount of cheese I had available was 150g - a lot! - but if I’d only had 50g in the house, that’s what I would have used. I didn’t use a recipe as such - I put in what I had in the amounts I had available. The cheese was a (large) bonus!

I have to say, though, generally the two of us do eat quite a large amount of food. Mr S is nearly 6ft 5in, and I’m over 6ft and very active, if that puts it into perspective.

I do eat rather a lot of dairy - we get through quite a bit of cheese, cream cheese and cream on a weekly basis. Thankfully I’m not sensitive to dairy (apart from being very much in love with it!).

I feel like a real underachiever after the last 6 or 8 posts! :exploding_head::roll_eyes: I’m finishing off some leftovers with an infusion of peel & eat shrimp to make it “new again” - the last of my chicken salad with some kale slaw & Kerrygold Dubliner on a Chaffle, and some cauli-rice with butter & cream cheese. OH, & a boiled egg.

3 Cheese Burgers with Bacon and Mushrooms. Also added some Mayo after the pic. And a bowl of Chicken Gizzards and Hearts.

We are 5’4" (female, mildly active, that’s me, of course) and 5’9" (male, somewhat active), 154 lbs each. We can’t do much with tiny meals (except me on carnivore, sometimes), it means its calorie content and could eat more than good for us (I mean weight, not necessarily being unwell, that takes a lot) but your quiche sounds quite serious even for us  I surely will make a smaller amount first. And if it will be at least a bit pretty, I take a shot!
I eat little dairy especially if it has lactose. I am not very sensitive but I feel my body don’t like much lactose (well, too much net carbs surely should be avoided but cream raises my calories too much if I am not careful, it’s not satiating enough for me) but it’s fine to eat just a little of it.

I had a bit more dairy today but it was milk and kefir. It was little but 10g carbs. It’s good I almost never do it (or 5 times as much… even 1 liter milk at once is really easy, it was a quite small part of my late breakfast sometimes as a young, active girl. because of carbs. they did things to me).

So, I am very careful with dairy now (I don’t even have HWC since weeks). But the recipe sounds tempting, I always wanted to try these cream/cheese/eggs things. I don’t think I ever saw and ate a quiche. And I always can add more eggs. I never met a recipe where more eggs was a very bad idea, I think.

I really go now and dream about nice photogenic dishes!

London Broil sous vide at 133 F for 11 hours. Tender as can be. And riced cauliflower with asparagus and mushrooms (from frozen) that I added a large pat of butter to.

Ella approves!

Lamb Stew

Topped with Feta Cheese with Mediterranean Herbs, Baklouti Chili infused EVO and Avocado

those with good eyes may have noticed the beans in my stew. I’m finishing it off after a recent break from KETO. So while I’m cleaning up my foods, I’m not willing to chuck it out! :cowboy_hat_face:

What an amazing shot of Ella, I love her pleading, hungry, “whatcha got there?” eyes

Those shrimp look amazing, @CandyLindTX!

@Janie, those eyes! Awwww…

I think I’m quite lucky in that I can eat dairy with no issues, and it’s quite a large proportion of what I eat day to day. Ironically I can’t bear the taste of milk, but I enjoy cheese, cream and homemade yoghurt. Used to make kefir but I don’t any more - I still get my happy bugs from sauerkraut though.

I feel the same! I really love eggs.

Corned beef and cabbage.

#736

I had corned beef today, also.

I hardly EVER purchase beef, since we raise it. But, it seems our local grocer over-bought corned beef briskets, so they went from $5.99/lb down to $2.99 pound. I bought 2, cooked one, refrigerated it, and have been lopping off slices all morning. Absolutely delish!

I might go snag a couple more and pop them in the freezer. =)

There’s a joke, a guy goes for a job interview and the employer asks him to describe himself in three words, the interviewee replies “lazy.” That’s my husband and me today…

I took something from the freezer (horse franks), something from the fridge (ham), something from the cupboard (canned mackerel), something from the countertop (eggs) and something from the store (baked chicken breast)…tadaaaaaaa, dinner!

('Jackie P') #738

Chicken thighs with madras sauce and leftover roasted Mediterranean vegetables. Sounds weird but it was delicious😋

(Candy Lind) #739

That’s a humongous cod fillet, over an inch thick, made into a chafflewich with loads of mayo & some of what my grocer calls “power slaw” -kohlrabi, broccoli, Brussels, cabbage, radicchio. I’ll hold it together with some romaine. Now to see if I can get my mouth around it!

(Full Metal KETO AF) #740

Is that why they look so long? We don’t get them here. :joy::joy::joy::cowboy_hat_face::racehorse:

#741

The guy makes them longer and thinner  If you ever make it to my side of the pond, you can try all the horsey you will want…

(Rebecca 🌸 Frankenfluffy) #742

Gave the other half of my block of homemade paneer an Italian twist by tossing it in pesto and frying it to top off a bowl of cabbage/leek ‘spaghetti’ bolognese…

I feel I now need fried cheese with EVERYTHING!
