What Did You Keto Today? Part IV

food

Well, there were plenty available on Amazon, but the only two that I felt would ‘do’ had had reviews which said ‘arrived with EU plug not UK plug, sent it back’ - so I gave up at that point! Found a high-wattage does-the-job number at John Lewis without 96 assorted attachments - it arrives Saturday! #yessss

And it had better brace itself for a LOT of action, that’s all I can say! :joy:

Preheat the pan more and use more fat. Make sure the fat is hot before cracking in the eggs. Make sure the edges aren’t sticking after about a minute. I think your major issue was that the pan and fat wasn’t hot enough. Fry some bacon batches. :cowboy_hat_face:

I want to love this 3 or four times. I found another small package of turkey in the freezer (SCORE!), so I get a turkey chafflewich later today. I may have to mop later …:drooling_face::drooling_face:

Chocolate mint is one of my favorites. Unfortunately, Enlightened has a Keto mint chocolate chunk ice cream. I have to be careful to limit its presence in my freezer (the PB fudge, too!)!!

You said the right thing for me to be running right over there (as soon as the light goes green on the waffle maker!)!

She doesn’t know KitchenAid very well. She’ll probably hand it down to another family member some day.

I wish I were nearby to take some off your hands! I just might have to buy a turkey next time to the store …

(Candy Lind) #506

Do you buy enough to freeze (do you have room for it)? It’s super easy to prep & comes out great when you pull it out. I would have it year ‘round if I wouldn’t run out of room for meat.

:+1: Yeah, even before Keto I was never big on bread in general. (or Rice or other starchy stuff) But there are a few things I really liked, and one was a nice Turkey Sandwich with plenty of Mayo, Salt & Pepper. :yum: So the Chaffles work pretty good for this. Or at least fill that void a little.

I think I actually like a cold Turkey Sandwich, better than eating it on a plate hot. But would never turn down Turkey on Bread with Gravy either! The other side to the Turkey Sandwich love!

:+1: … The Wife just picked up 3 more Turkey Breast that were on sale a few days ago. We usually have a few on hand in the deep freezer since she picks up a few each time they’re on sale. Freezer is quite full presently, but is only missing my favorite thing that I recently ran out of… Dungeness Crab. I need to reach out to my supplier to see if he can get me some. (Not sure if he’s open for business presently?)

Until last year, when I felt guilty for using their WiFi all the time without buying anything, I never went there either. I buy their coffee, but I don’t especially like it. I can make my fru-fru coffee better & cheaper at home. Before he passed, my eldest brother kept one shop in Plano, TX in business single-handed, I swear!

That’s where I love to buy coffee! They have a pecan flavor that I adore.

I personally cannot stand Star Bucks Coffee (it tastes extremely bitter to me) and it is totally highway robbery --really really expensive.

Forgot to post my meal from a few hours ago… Fried Eggs, Bacon, Sausage Links, Sausage Patties and the rest of my Steak from the other night. Don’t think I will be eating tonight.

('Jackie P') #512

Oo er!:flushed:

Just for a change,

Now there’s a plan! I don’t ever buy supermarket asparagus as this stuff from down the road is unbelievable, which is why we just stick to the season. But I’ll try to not eat every spear that comes into the house immediately and will give freezing a go! We always used to freeze our own veg gluts so I’m sure I can try this!

Hey Jax I thought you swore them off for a while! :stuck_out_tongue::joy::joy::joy::yum::cowboy_hat_face:

Easy peasy dinner tonight for me…sausages and scrambled eggs with berries and super thick cream for pud

(Karen) #516

He said he used Crisco.

(Karen) #517

Chaffle with tuna fish and cheddar

(Steve) #518

**Curried Chicken and Cauliflower **
Brisket

(Candy Lind) #519

That brisket looks lovely!!

As promised, I’m chafflewiching today (BACON Chaffles!), with some turkey I found in the freezer and a couple of gorgeous romaine leaves to keep the calories in check. I lifted the “blanket” so you can see I actually have something between the Chaffle & the romaine (I don’t like pickles on my sandwiches or anything.).

I cut them to make them easier to package, then I steam them for 3 minutes and spread them out on something flat to freeze. It takes more space to process, but when they are frozen apart, you can make big bags and take out just what you need. You can do the same with spears if you like the aesthetic of spears.
