Guilty
@Tmdlkwd Awwwww me too, guilty as.. I even get a headache if I don’t have it. It’s strange cos I used to hate the bitter taste but it grew on me. In Australia we have 7eleven stores. Not sure if you have them there. But there were these AMAZING creamy cappuccinos. Oh my gosh they were good. But they too are only in cities. They were frothy and strong and only $1 for a medium cup or $2 for a large. I always got the large cup.
As a big starbucks coffee lover (I have a large mug collection and do book my stays based on distances from Starbucks), I understand the need for the love starbucks, errr I mean coffee, gives you back

@Tmdlkwd Do you have 20 cups a day?? . Man, that’s commitment!!! When I was 16, I decided to try coffee, I had about 5 cups with like 5 tablespoons of coffee in each one. After two I was jumping around all hypo. Thinking " Wow, I’ve been missing out". After 5 cups I was in a baaaad way.
. I couldn’t eat, then that night couldn’t sleep, but was too sick to move, just jittered around on my bed all night. I had to go to work the next day and I felt SO sick.
. It took like two days to be normal again. It wasn’t the coffees fault, it was me being an idiot, yet I blamed the coffee for years.
. Now I know my limit. I guess I learn lessons the hard way sometimes.
@Tmdlkwd oh ok, I was gonna say!!!. I was thinking " Hmmmmmm
". Hahaha. I guess I’m pretty gullible at times.
I think you need a new mug…
My office necessities - tumbler for the drive to work (my husband’s gift from his work-trip to thailand) and my work-coffee mug
Love it!!! Thank you! Tara’s toes look a lot prettier than mine lately…this lockdown has got them looking a little unloved!
Hope Tara cheers up for you today!
Greetings All,
This is Gaz, I am new here!
My breakfast today, was cherry tomato with scrambled eggs and hot Chili sauce!
I had an open face chaffle with chicken and mayo in the afternoon, and dinner was a chaffle, chicken with sour cream and hot sauce, an Anaheim pepper stuffed with a mix of cream cheese and cheddar and wrapped in bacon, avocado, olives and pickled peppers. It was a lot of food and yummy.
We normally have soup for lunch, but I fancied a change today! We really enjoyed this ham and cheese on chaffle toast.
In other news I am desperately sad to report the demise (due to overwork) of my favourite kitchen appliance - my immersion blender. I used it twice today - once for chaffle batter, once to make the topping for tonight’s fish pie - and it’s sounding very sick and vibrating like a jack hammer. Plus my pie topping’s not quite what I’d describe as ‘smooth’!
Sigh. Soup, chaffles, cauliflower mash, cottage pie and fish pie will be off the menu until I get my mitts on a replacement blender…
I inherited a cast iron pan from my parents. My husband thoroughly seasoned it, after cleaning it. It is somewhat dish, and that it is not flat on the bottom. I don’t know if they got it this way or if it was damaged after they got it. I cooked my eggs this morning.
A lot of sticking and a lot of broken yolk. Ideas?Just scrape that egg off with a plastic scraper, then wipe it down. What kind of fat are you using for seasoning? I found that despite warnings about rancidity, lard is the only reliable fat for building up a good seasoning layer. It takes a few good meat fries for a cast iron to become non stick enough to fry an egg, but once it happens, they’ll be the best fried eggs ever! I don’t even run my cast iron under water. I just scrape and wipe with a towel. If the surface appears matte after cooking, I add a dollop of lard and heat it, then wipe off the excess.
I was hoping to add one to my online grocery delivery order for next week, but they’ve sold out of any that look remotely useful. Amazon astonishingly don’t seem to have one that I want - so I’ve pulled out the John Lewis big guns…
