Good to know! Thanks!
How long did you cook it?
I cook by sight, sound, smell and touch. And taste when applicable :). I never have recipes, so I don’t have times. I cooked it until the top layer of bacon looked melty, and some juices were starting to be visible between the bacon. Then turned them over and cooked them again about half as long. When I cook any meat not wrapped in bacon, I cook it on one side until some juices appear on the top, then turn it over for a short time, until the bottom is browned. If you turn things too often, you lose juices.
Trying to support local restaurants at least once or twice a week during this health crisis. Soul food restaurant up the street from me that I had never tried before. Half rack of ribs with no sauce, collard greens, and green beans. It was tasty! Just the ribs were slightly overcooked but not too bad.
Thank you, this it confidence boosting. I think one of the most helpful things that I have learned in the past couple years is that cooking is more art than science. Art, I can handle. I an not inherently going to screw this up.
There are other options, I never used a mixer or machine for making it. I do all my doughs with my hand and a spoon or fork, maybe I am a savage But it works so why not? It doesn’t need much work and I don’t have a kitchen tool to make it for me anyway. I used to have a bread machine, I threw it out, it’s easier and better to make a bread with hand IMO…
I made your bread again a few days ago. It’s so confusing, the taste keep changing (well, I do make tiny changes but even though, it is surprising). Well, it’s bread. My first few dozens wheat breads had the same recipe (except one or two) and they turned out differently too even if I used the exact same flour…
My taste change too. Before my carnivore trials I handled flax flavor better. So I diminish the amount of it in recipes now.
I feel a bit bad, next time I bring photos somehow despite my aversion to take shots, it’s a responsibility, it takes effort to make pretty ones like the ones here
I swapped my pudding of extra thick cream and berries I had logged on cronometer for three glasses of wine…I’ve been so good and organised at my food for the day and my tracking, but then working from home and 3 year old put the mockers on that and before you know it I’m on my second glass of wine and I’ve forgotten to put my omelette on
Seriously though…working from home with a demanding job, and a small child is quite possibly one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done. Thank goodness for wine
Well, the weeks of heavy rain followed by the last week of warm sunshine have brought the local asparagus farm’s season forward by over a week!
Delighted to have sampled some of the first of this year’s crop today - it’s my absolute favourite vegetable. Normally we await St George’s Day (23rd) with bated breath and gorge ourselves until the season ends on Midsummer’s Day - how wonderful that these extraordinary times have coincided with an exceptional start to cropping!
This looks delicious! There are so many things to be grateful for
Blimey @ClareBear, having read your post I have determined that I have absolutely NO excuse for my own wine consumption right now…
I’m not at work for the time being, and despite his best efforts to prove otherwise Mr S can’t strictly be considered a small child!
So I think my only excuse is ‘because wine’…
(That omelette looks scrummy!)
Early Dinner… Turkey Salad, Cottage Cheese, Sauerkraut, Pickles and Olives. Told the Wife to eat the other half of my Steak from last night, but she only made Shrimp, not feeling like eating much. So I ate a half dozen or so with her and one of us will eat the Steak tomorrow.
You have every excuse to drink wine!! You get to celebrate!
‘Because wine’ is a perfect justification in my books
Quarantine isn’t that bad! At least you can drink on the job without people noticing your slurred speech and stumbling about…Cheers Clare!
Maybe you spent more time at that Starbucks than you did with your family?
We took Tara to the vet yesterday, 6-month check-up, she had her blood drawn, organ ultrasound…she was not a happy puppy, she’ll pay me back today or tomorrow I decided to torture her a little more for a celebratory morning post for @ClareBear, it’s nice to see you’re back.
Wow😄
Very interesting!
At least it saves you money and spending
Definitely everywhere around here or locally
In grocery stores and in retail stores
