@HBuk Crate and Barrel
I found mine in a thrift store. I like it when I have sausages with sauerkraut pickles and mustard.

Dinner tonight… Top Sirloin Steak (Was quite big so cut it in half - part two for tomorrow ) Also had some Deep Sea Scallops, Mushrooms and a couple slices of the Brisket from yesterday.
Had some issues getting the image to load, so had to use my work computer? (Been seeing this a few times today so not sure what’s going on? )
Awesome I love them all, big and small
Sitting here with 3 of them, and one cat swarmed all around me as I type this
Out on a walk
Out of my eyes what could appear but a shiny food truck just at sunset
My o my
Wait😳
Is this a dream?
A mirage?
Am I patched?
At closer smell and look
Heaven
I already ate
Who cares
Never turn down bacon
Local steak house in the nearby town set up numbered signs in their parking lot for take-out. You call in your order and they ask what you are driving and assign you a number to park in.
They brought our food out wearing a mask and gloves. I gave her a 25% tip. My husband was shuffling bills to give her a typical 15-20% tip and I grabbed a few more to help the girl out. I’m sure plenty don’t even tip for take-out but these gals must be hurting with no tables to wait on. For the non-US citizens here… wait staff are exempt from minimum wage laws and get paid a meager wage that relies on tips to make up the difference.
It is over an hour round trip so I bring my own metal utensils (hard to cut steak or even chicken breast with a plastic knife) and keep cookie sheets in the car to help balance our boxes of food and condiments.
Oh yeah - this is a food thread. No pics but I had “loaded chicken”. A chicken breast smothered in onions, mushrooms and cheese topped with bacon. Yum.
I’ve never seen that one.Will definitely be on the look out for it now!
It was crazy, people waiting in line for hours… they usually sell about 3000€ of cleaning supplies per day and once this mess began, a few weeks ago, they sold just 50000€ worth of sanitizer. They had trouble with stock (bottles, alcohol, etc), so they had to slow down the production and the government issued an order that they can only sell to hospitals and similar institutions (local medical centers, homes for the elderly, etc). They were working day and night packing sanitizers…
That looks great too! This is really making me want to buy one. I’m thinking about pickles and olives, cherry tomatoes, fried halloumi, spicy warm chorizo
mmmmm. I’m going to have a look on eBay and see if I can find something similar
Experimental dinner: Ground beef balls, stuffed with plain Chevre, Chevre and artichoke and Chevre and tomato paste, and wrapped in bacon. All the versions of fillings were nicely complimenting flavors, but it should have been more filling and less meat. There will definitely be a next version of this. There were two more and I went for seconds. Love cooking with Chevre. That was OMAD.
Dinner last night;
Big Mac Casserole w green beans. It was fine I nailed the sauce but I think I like my shepherds pie better.
So, curious, did you brown the beef first or did you assemble it raw and cook it all together?
Woke to a Chilly house this morning, due to the two batteries in the thermostat being dead. So after I replaced the batteries and started a fire in the wood burning stove, the Wife made some 1/4 lb. Hotdogs with some Chili and Cheese. … Said we needed some hot foods this morning, instead of the Turkey Salad we still need to eat and were planning to have today for lunch.
I assembled it first. I don’t think it would hold together with the meat being pre-cooked, and also, Chevre is slow melting and not runny. I made the balls and then popped them on my indoor grill, with the grill plate reversed as griddle and a “pan” made of aluminum foil to gather the bacon fat.
