Drats!
That looks so Freaking good
I miss strawberry rhubarb pie :pie:
From Pollys or Marie Calenders
Heck or just Both :slightly_smiling_face:
Curious, what’s the carb count on rhubarb?

(Brandy) #348

I’ve never had either of those pies. Previous to my switch to Keto, I was something of a pie making legend. Strawberry rhubarb, lemon meringue and chocolate banana cream were my specialties. Pies are the only thing about my dietary switch two years ago that my family regrets, because I don’t make them anymore. I make them other non Keto foods, but I don’t trust myself with pie- anybody’s pie. It’s my Kryptonite.

Anyway, rhubarb has got about 6 total g of carbs, 3.8 net per 100 grams in weight Strawberry comes in at 8 total, 6 net per 100 grams in weight. I really enjoyed making the jam, because 2 tablespoons is plenty and it does in fact, taste like pie filling.

:joy::joy: I wouldn’t get too excited Jody…like many, my toes are in a poor state due to all this corona business :joy: shockingly bad!

Missed you too! :kissing_heart:

(Allie) #350

Those of you who have made the Big Mac casserole, what did you do for the dill relish? I’ve never seen it here…

(Rebecca 🌸 Frankenfluffy) #351

Thanks, it was! These two hunks of rib eye were huuuuuuuge! I live in a little rural village, and our village shop has very kindly been delivering groceries to our doorstep while we’re in lockdown. They have meat delivered from an excellent local butcher twice a week, and we called them to add some rib eye to their order for us as a weekend treat. It arrived on the doorstep yesterday morning, together with the Saturday newspaper and two dozen eggs.

We are very fortunate. :smiley::cut_of_meat::trophy:

(Jenny) #352

Man, I love breakfast. Not pictured: the spinach cooked in bacon fat that I shoved in my mouth before sitting down to eat

(Allie) #353

Breakfast is cooking. Well I have nine hens currently laying…

(Susan) #354

All I did was chop up dill pickles into really tiny pieces, Allie, and it worked just fine =). I also didn’t have any of the Worchestershire Sauce so I just left that out, and I didn’t have any Heavy Whipping Cream so I melted some Cream cheese and that all worked out fine as well =).

As it’s the holidays, I am having elevensies!
Toasted brie an tomato chaffle! I should have used a knife and fork, but I like getting it all over my hands and chin :yum:

(Allie) #356

Thank you Susan, that I can do :grinning::heart:

(Keto Koala 🐨) #357

Easter bunny stew…Nawwww. kidding.:rabbit::scream::joy:

(Rebecca 🌸 Frankenfluffy) #358

We’re having lamb shanks as our Easter supper tonight - pictured at breakfast time - low and slow will do just nicely.

@CrackerJax’s influence has struck again! :kissing_heart:

(Keto Koala 🐨) #359

@KetoSnaps Yummy Bec, Happy easter honey.:smiling_face_with_three_hearts::rabbit::innocent:

('Jackie P') #360

Aww nice @KetoSnaps, thats what Mum’s having, I put it in her freezer for her!
Today I felt like doing some random acts of kindness . Like the man over the road who bought me an Easter Egg to say thank you for being an NHS worker ! It wasn’t the moment to start wittering on about carbs :rofl::rofl:. I was touched by the thought.
I made a chicken casserole and took a dinner to a couple of elderly neighbours.

It’s a little carby for me. Made with a can of cider that’s been knocking about for a few years! Lots of root veg!

I also made them some orange and vanilla frankenfluff.

They both seemed pleased!
I have chicken wings for later :yum:
