There are places I REALLY love to eat on the road. One is White’s Petro Travel Center on I-81 in Raphine, VA. These beef short ribs from the deli are fall-off-the-bone tender (witness the one with no bone!). They are $10/lb., and worth every penny. Collards on the side. A welcome break from hamburger steak & chicken.
Delicious food that someone else cooked, at an affordable price. Win win win!
Rogue River Blue Reserve - the best blue cheese in the world, aged for four years. Still surprisingly creamy! Definitely more hard crystal bits in the middle of the cheese than with this year’s release, though. It’s a very pleasant texture.

2” thick USDA prime ribeye. Sous vide to 129 and sear over cast iron. Not the wall to wall color and no gradation (greywalls).
Lunch… Large Steak, Bacon and Mushroom Salad.
Dinner… Sous Vide Steak, Deviled Eggs and Brussel Sprouts. Also a Triple Chocolate.
