What did you Keto today? Part Deux!

(Mike W.) #924

OMAD for the day…nah, JK. I’m planning to eat 2 more times :joy: #feastbeforefast

(Running from stupidity) #925

Is there a recipe for this concoction somewhere?

(Candy Lind) #926

That’s a mighty wide net to cast! LOL Adelaide? Melbourne? Canberra? (Or are you a Tasmanian Devil?:smiling_imp:) I suspect south is better climate for avocados.

(Running from stupidity) #927

Yeah, but restaurant marketing speak can be a little vague

I’m in Melbourne. Great place to live unless you don’t own a house, in which case good luck…

(Karen) #928

Hahahaha😂

The chicken looks scrumptious though.

Yesterday I attended a potluck at our choir retreat. I had brought kale salad chicken salad to go on top and walnuts thinking there wouldn’t be anything that would be keto. Surprisingly I was able to unroll some pinwheels and eat the innards and someone brought pulled pork.

(Allie) #929

I can tell you what I put in it but no real amounts as I made it up :joy:

Two whole eggs, or sometimes one whole egg and one yolk, white wine vinegar (because that’s what I have), lemon juice, mustard (I used mustard seeds before I actually bought proper mustard), turmeric, salt and pepper, in a base of olive oil and ghee (I used just the olive oil at first which was still ok but a bit bitter) - simply zapped all together in the Nutribullet until it’s a mayo type consistency. It’s nothing like the store bought mayo I’ve always kept hold of, but it’s really good in its own right so I’m going to keep making it and keep experimenting in the interests of my health.

Well, today I’ve taken my life into my own hands… this is heavy whipping cream gone sour. (Thanks a lot fasting!!!)

I used it for the sauce for my chicken and broccoli. I added turmeric and pepper a la @shortstuff. Don’t worry, I won’t blame you if I die from using old cream, that’s on me.

Also some shredded Edam (I think… or Gouda? The one with the red wax, not yellow. I love me a halal shop, but they’re not super great at labeling.) And soda water with raspberries.

And! Raspberry cream soda. Raspberries+(fresh) cream+soda water. Cause raspberries! Can’t stop! Won’t stop! Should stop!

(Betsy) #931

I use this stuff every day. On burgers, steaks, pulled pork, whatever. Can be used with eggs, makes them even more delicious. So I don’t have a recipe, but a secret ingredient.

#932

GASP! Nice knowing you, @Ruina. :weary:

(Candy Lind) #933

I do well to keep up with two quarts! :joy:

(Hyperbole- best thing in the universe!) #934

Haha! It’s even in Chinese!

(Allie) #935

@Ruina how was it? I don’t think the cream is likely to be harmful, just wouldn’t taste as nice as it used to - may be a good ingredient actually.

Can’t go wrong with turmeric and black pepper, the ultimate anti-inflammatory combination that tastes good too.

(Hyperbole- best thing in the universe!) #936

It was good! The cream just tasted like very sour cream to me, so I decided it was safe, even though when I checked online it said that unpasteurized cream sours safely, but pasteurized cream does not. I decided throw caution to the wind.

But I ate well past satiety and am full till Wednesday I think.

(Candy Lind) #937

What a gorgeous, yummy idea!

(Kristin) #938

Broke a 39 hour fast with a BBQ, as planned. Beef skewers is the first course!

#939

Sorry, I’m here to focus on the ketogenic diet. I don’t need to be distracted by sexy talk, like this.

(Sophie) #940

Who’s the hot dog for? :grinning:

(Kristin) #941

The lone hot dog is for me. I’m the only one who wanted a hot dog added to the menu. Lol

(Kristin) #942

Bunless burgers are next on the menu!

(Kristin) #943

How can I be the only person who wants one of these!?!
