What did you Keto today? Part Deux!

I used to make boiled chicken and rice for sick dogs at work and even though it looks bland I always loved the taste of boiled chicken, that’s why yours looks so good. Plus, I’ll bet that broth is great.

The reason I don’t like beef is that my buddy at work hunts and gets me venison and after that clean tasting meat I am turned off by the taste of beef. I still love pork, fish, seafood and every once in a while, chicken and eggs.

Dinner was simple tonight… Salad, followed by a Cheese Burger & Hot Half-Smoke from last night, some Tuna-Deviled Eggs, Pickles & Olives. :yum: First time I actually used a Saucer instead of Plate.

Did you buy every single bag? I’m the type who would buy every bag of something when it’s that nice of a score. I love matcha. It gives me a nice dose of caffeine without causing my heart beat to register on seismic devices :scream:

Sea Bacon, Tree bacon, Bacon, and Bacon Ranch Salad with Chicken:

I usually do boring keto, and have the same thing every day. It helps. Today though, I decided to mix it up a bit and just have it all at once on the same plate. It’s just a big 'ol salad with: smoked herring (sea bacon), avocado (tree bacon), bacon, and homemade bacon ranch dressing. And chicken. Because chicken isn’t bacon. :yum:

I like bacon.

No, they had a few cases! I just bought two to try it first.

This tasted pretty good

Chicken (ingredients looked safe at quick glance at the hot bar), a very small amount of broccoli and courgette, some mushrooms, and a splash of caesar dressing. Was pretty good, wasn’t expecting to eat again.

This too

I wasn’t expecting to eat after such a big lunch, but felt pretty hungry after taking my daughter to swimming lessons tonight. Quickly cooked up some 80% ground beef, sliced spam, lots of butter, a few dollops of avocado mayonnaise, some bok choy (I think, I stole it from what the rest of the family were eating), and of course, pink Himalayan salt and some black pepper. It was unreal how good this tasted.

Nice one :slightly_smiling_face:

Salami, Capsicum & Onion Fat Head Pizza

You have much more restraint than I do. My reaction would be , “bye-bye clothes, this closet’s for matcha now!”

Dinner yesterday. (Did I mention how I love this thread? I LOVE taking pics of my foods to everyone’s annoyance. Now I can see other’s too! My guilty pleasure hehe)

Made a fathead pizza crust for when SO comes home from work on Thursday (been almost a month!)

I also made some fathead bagels. Look at how adorable they are! Pretty tasty even though you can definitely tell it’s not the real thing, but that’s completely okay.

Also giving this a try. Anyone have any luck or any words of wisdom when it comes to MCT oil?

I’m fasting today so am just torturing myself.

I agree! My mom used to always boil chicken for me growing up. I remember her trying to handle the chicken to tear into pieces for me while blowing on her fingers because it was still so hot! So sweet.

I had venison (not fresh, was frozen from FL to AK) backstrap and it was SO GOOD. We make these “balls” where we use backstrap with cream cheese, sliced peperoncinos, roll them up, wrap with thick bacon, and throw on the grill. To die for!

But also living in Alaska, we try to get a moose every year. And moose is also pretty damn fantastic. Need to save the bone marrow next time as I saw a lovely recipe with bone barrow with a blueberry reduction. Yum!

Me too, for some reason on a fast I love to read this thread.

#4836

I think a lot of us do this. … I know I do. Doesn’t bother me to see all the great dishes, but gives me time to think of new ideas for when the Fast is over.

(Allie) #4837

I’m just planning future meals… :joy:

(The amazing autoimmune 🦄) #4838

It’s funny because I will plan but then I tend not to execute on the complicated cooking that I see here. I usually just keep it simple.

I will say though that your plates of pickles and olives has me eating them more regularly.

#4839

Yeah, they go well with a lot of things and I’m hearing this more and more too. Hard to beat the Green Guys as sides.

(Allie) #4840

I plan to cook all the time, very rarely happens though because I’m a very lazy cook. The thick strip of pork belly I cooked overnight in the slow cooker as amazing though… I’ll reheat it and finish it tomorrow

MCT advice:

Start REALLY slowly (maybe 1/2 to 1 tsp per day) and build up from there.

Don’t take it on an empty stomach, especially to begin with.

Get a good quality MCT which lets you know how many grams of C8 & C10 it contains. It seems the more C12 an MCT oil has, the harder it is on my… tummy… C8 seems the best for my stomach, but it’s also significantly more expensive.

I think the acidity of the pickles goes well with higher fat foods.
