What did you Keto today? Part Deux!

(Running from stupidity) #4043

Dropped into Aldi this morning, got these. No immediate plans, but I now have approximately 764 different types of oil.

#4044

Yeah, I know you could indeed be right. :+1:

But this on-going stuffy head and just overall yucky and queasy feelings really suck.

(Jane) #4045

I wonder if the sweet almond oil I use in my homemade soap is food grade? I bet it is a lot cheaper since it doesn’t come in a fancy bottle!

(Running from stupidity) #4046

This was from Aldi, so it wasn’t all that expensive, but also might not be food-grade

Mine is re-seeding all over the yard!

(Running from stupidity) #4048

Oooh, nice

(Ernest) #4049

There’s no recipe. I SautĂ©e some diced onions with garlic, season with salt, pepper and Aleppo pepper. Dump some crashed tomatoes, cook that mess down until it starts to stick to the pan. Dump in an obscene amount of olive oil mix well then crack some eggs in there. Bake in 400 degrees oven.

#4050

Had some BBQ Pulled Pork, along with Cole Slaw, Butter Fried Kale and Deviled Eggs. Also had a side of Pickles and Olives and then some Chocolate and Strawberries with a little HWC.

#4051

Thanks, Ernest. Certainly going to try that

(Michelle) #4052

90 sec Keto bread some berries topped off with clotted cream. This paired with a cuppa tea helped make this -25 weather a little warmer.

Don’t get my laptop, but if I do a search to find a thread, I can’t click on the thread. Anyway

As Bruno Mars says: “Before we go.”

This is the tiniest butterfly in North America, the Western Pygmy Blue. It flies close to the ground, and looks like a white speck. Here is how it looks up close, on my basil! Keep in mind it is 1/4 inch across.

The picture does not do it justice, it has a lot of deep blue in the wings.

Caterpillar Hosts: Pigweed (Chenopodium album), saltbush species (Atriplex), and others in the goosefoot family (Chenopodiaceae).

I have dutifully planted all of the above in my garden, which is why they are regulars on the sweet thai basil and Genovese basil for nectar from July through November.

(Running from stupidity) #4054

Given the thread, I thought you were going to say you were attracting them to your garden in order to eat them

Hey, insects are protein rich, I am told.

Hot pot

Very long day and very tired at the end of it, nobody felt like cooking. We headed out for hot pot in the end. It’s Chinese New Year soon so it was much busier than usual and we ended up waiting over an hour. Normally I wouldn’t give this place much patience, it’s “alright” lazy hot pot at best, but I’d heard some interesting things recently and we decided to wait it out. It was REALLY worth the wait. Service has picked up, the food was great, and they’ve added a bunch of things to the menu that you can get on the side (such as the lovely fatty piece of lamb on the bone pictured below).

SPAMbled Eggs with Avo & Frank’s Red Hot

(Running from stupidity) #4058

:joy:

(Running from stupidity) #4059

Also, were you wearing a red top? (If it was Regina, I’d also include the “are you sunburned?” option)

#4060

I saw @Gaff’s lovely looking meal & in a panic put a filter on :joy: Ain’t no filter can beautify SPAMbled eggs.

(Running from stupidity) #4061

Yeah, that’s fair enough

(Allie) #4062

Ribeye, bacon, eggs - also fatty coffee and a pot of my homemade Bulgarian yoghurt, made with extra heavy cream

I think today will be OMAD :joy:
