What did you Keto today? Part Deux!

(Mike W.) #362

2g net carbs in a 1/4 bar.

That’s been one of the greatest aspects of this WOE, is how the diminished appetite & cravings makes it possible for me to socialize and not eat at food-focused events.

I cook most dinners for a non-keto household. In the last week I’ve made a few carby dinners with no issues. I also went to breakfast at a restaurant with friends and just had coffee.

It’s liberating.

I was out and about today, so stopped by the hot bar at Whole Foods for lunch. I ended up with a box of all the best bits of chicken, bacon, blue cheese, a little bit of asparagus and green beans, and a boiled egg. While loading the chicken a woman commented, “Ohhh, you’re taking all the best bits, I like the skin!”. After saying sorry (but not sorry) we said how great it would be if there was a store that sold all the bits nobody wants after food processing. Imagine somewhere you could sample skins and fatty chunks of meat. Mmmm.

Once I got home I added some butter. Yum.

28 day steak fried in butter, I got so involved in the cooking and eating I forgot to take more photos

#366

Would you mind sharing that recipe, good sir? I only ask since Blue Cheese is pretty much my go to. I will eat just about any type really, and it does provide a nice change, but BC is indeed my favorite.

Will also need to check into these as well. I’ve been getting the 90% and usually just eat a square or two here and there. (2.2 net each) But have been wondering if you could get it in maybe 95%-100%. Will probably be ordering some.

lunch. Pork belly eggs and avacado

#369

This happens to me often! Looks delish

(Mike W.) #370

Super easy. Equal parts mayo and sour cream, blue cheese crumbles, garlic powder and salt to taste!

#371

Will be experimenting this weekend! Thanks

(Sophie) #372

Chilly weather here so Chili is on the menu!!!
And before anyone comments, these are Black Soy Beans. Google is your friend :+1:

#373

Looks good, and yep, getting a little chilly here as well. Might have been in the high 30’s last night, and was 40 when I got up at 4:30AM this morning.

(Mike W.) #374

You’re welcome! You’ll have have to pry the homemade Ranch recipe out of my wife’s cold dead hands though :joy:

#375

Broke a 97 hr. Fast tonight, starting with a salad. Then 30/40 minutes later, a T-Bone, Shrimp, Bacon and the little green guys. … But I probably only ate maybe a little more then half the steak. Pups got the rest.

@MiKetoAF
Mind comparing the taste Lindt vs Montezuma chocolate?
Just curious
Lindt I am familiar with, mostly the 90% though
Noticed the montezuma brand on Amazon
Thanks!

(Mike W.) #377

Bacon fat Alfredo fathead with grilled chicken, bacon, mushrooms sautéed in bacon fat, and shaved Brussels.

#378

I’m with ya, Troy. 90% Lindt is what I’ve been eating too. Believe the wife said she’s seen 100%, but I haven’t seen it myself yet.

(Mike W.) #379

Well I haven’t had the Lindt in a while, and I just checked and it had turned. The Montezuma has a deep, rich cocoa flavor, but it’s not bitter. Slightly drying but pleasant mouthfeel. The first bite is kind of a “wow” moment, especially if the only 100% chocolate you’ve had was bakers.

Sold
Thanks
