What did you Keto today? Part Deux!

Very quickly, he got mad at another poster and rage quit the forum - that’s my impression. Perhaps he was a bit tired of it anyway…?

Wife made the big Turkey, which I thought we did a few weeks ago. But apparently, that was the smaller of the two. This one was 25 lbs. … Turkey, Corn Beef and Cabbage, with Pickles & Olives.

I didn’t take a pic but I made blackened cajun shrimp tacos with some store bought low carb tortillas, smothered in shredded lettuce, cheese, avocado, salsa and sour cream. The tortillas were 6 net carbs & I had 2, so I’m probably over my carbs for the day because I snacked a little today. Had some deviled eggs, a small dill pickle, some cheese crisps oh and…I had breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon and half of an avocado. I’m normally OMAD but I’ve just been super hungry today. Not going to stress about it because I have a half marathon on Sunday and I look at it as fueling my body to run my best race. I lifted weights heavier than I’ve ever lifted before yesterday as well so maybe that has something to do with the hunger :woman_shrugging:

I made a ton of food today because I work 12+ hours a day until the weekend. I roasted a a pork loin (not pictured) made 10 cheeseburgers (not pictured), a broccoli salad, a regular salad (both not pictured), a veggie beef casserole for myself (not pictured) then made two pork tenderloins for the BF for dinner and I made pan fried tilapia for myself. Might be the only way I cook tilapia from now on

I think his tenderloins look like giant charred slugs

Lazy breadless tuna melt, minus the melt, topped with a serving of Russian, and a side of anchovies.

Ive seen potted meat but was terrified of it. Reminds me a little of Fancy Feast.

What does it taste like?

#5484

Used to eat it some while growing up, and always like it. Used to make a Sandwich or just on Crackers. Just started eating it again not too long ago, and I still find it quite nice, especially with Pork Rinds and the like. … Salty, so a good source of Sodium, plus it’s relatively cheap and very low carb. So it fits in quite well with Keto. - Can’t say everyone will like it, & yeah some have said it reminds them of cat food.

Kind-of like mushy meat similar to cat food texture, which some might not like, but I think it’s definitely worth a try and I actually prefer it over say, sardines or the like. We pick it up in 6 pack for just a few $'s.

Caldo de Pollo, with cabbage, zucchini, celery & (:-1:t3:) carrots. Topped with cilantro & serranos :fire:

(Khara) #5486

:grimacing:Sorry I asked. My brain went straight to something terrible and so I was worried. Funny though, I have just started working with green peppers! Never really liked them but had them at a potluck in an egg and cheese casserole and it was delicious. I don’t like a lot of heat so I’m trying Pasilla and Anaheim peppers.
Below is breakfast. Omelette with sausage, bacon, onion, pasilla peppers, cheddar, and sour cream.

(Khara) #5487

First time I’ve ever heard of Russian dressing. Do you make your own?

(Little Miss Scare-All) #5488

No it was premade. Its like a french dressing, sorta, with relish in it, sorta lol. The one I found was low sugar, low carb. Its my favorite

I got a bunch of Anaheims last week - delicious. With hotter ones like Serranos and Jalapeños, if they’re too hot for me to eat plain (and Serranos have been that way, lately) a little sautéeing of the sliced peppers in butter - (or in butter + meat juice and olive oil left over from frying meat) - really tones down the heat and tastes great. Doesn’t have to be very hot, like 250 °F oe 120 °C.

(Khara) #5490

I looked up recipes. I will give it a try. 1000 island is really kinda a no go for me because I don’t like artificial sweeteners. This Russian might be a better alternative! And interesting it has a little spice.

And easy to keep in a purse or desk in case of food “emergencies”.

Baked cheese with smoked bacon???

Matcha Cake and Oolong Tea

I had a friend come and help me get my garden started, we ate some filet mingnon and rainbow chard with mushrooms and a side of my latest sauerkraut. We were so hungry I forgot to photograph it. I had this instead of dinner. :cowboy_hat_face:

(Steaks b4 cakes! 🥩🥂) #5494

Lunch today was left over chicken from last night, green beans and sliced radishes in olive oil!!

(Little Miss Scare-All) #5495

I never do artifical sweeteners, Im allergic to every single one in that they give me a migraine. But theres very little sugar, and when Im PMSing Ill have something like 1000 Island or Russian that has very little sugar in a serving. Doesnt seem to budge my ketosis one way or another, so for me, its safe.

Sliced beef heart cooked overnight in the slow cooker, homemade mayo.
