I have always loved green olives and cream cheese since I was very young.

(Katie) #23

Did you enjoy them? Or has your palate changed?

#24

Sounds like a rough run. Are you going to fast tomorrow and then get back on the wagon?

Felt like doing an OMAD day of eating,
Had some TEXAS bbq at Rudy’s

(Yes I know I’m 16)
Had 1 lb of lean brisket
And 3/4 lb of baby back ribs

And yes I’m the wierdo who actaully eats the bones of baby back ribs because they dissolve in your mouth like brittle bone marrow!
I also drank 1/2 gallon of unsweet tea with liquid Splenda and a packet of Truvia + lime

Lots of belly pork, a few green beans cooked in butter with bacon followed by a few raspberries and a thick double cream. Delicious!

#27

I’m trying to decide if I could do that if I felt a special occasion warranted it and get back on track quickly the next meal. I started Jan. 2, so it hasn’t been that long. I am not craving bread/rice/potato so what is the point? I’d rather have pineapple!

Oh wait, I allowed myself a slice of tiramisu on my birthday last week. Dinner was crab legs with butter so that wasn’t an issue. I don’t think I ate anything else that day. I was saving myself for the crab. Honestly, the tiramisu didn’t seem to do much damage. I don’t think there were all that many carbs in it compared to other sweets.

SecondBreakfast WOW. What didn’t you make? That is impressive!

Didn’t do Easter this year but had some ham still. Weighed in yesterday two months into Keto and I am down 23lbs. I have about 8lbs to go and then I am implementing strength program and hoping to build some muscle. I am rewarding myself with a beer tonight then back at it tomorrow.

We went to a potluck with friends. We brought fresh clams steamed in butter and garlic and also our own cream to have with coffee .
Others brought: ham (surprisingly and frustratingly sweet all the way through), pulled pork (also a bit sweet), chicken ceviche (seemed to be the most promising no sugar item), sweet potato casserole (had a bite… sweet), coleslaw (bite… sweet), bread (had none), lemon meringue pie (had none), little bowls of pastel plain m&m’s (had a few).
Anyway it turned out fine. Mostly nice to just visit with friends. And really nice to not have my previously addicted to sugar self grazing the entire afternoon on every sweet thing available. Instead I was calm and content. I could’ve fasted if I’d wanted to. But I did a tiny taste of everyone’s homemade offerings and could quickly tell what had sugar. I mostly had ham and the ceviche and clams and coffee with cream. I was disappointed though… no eggs! We didn’t bring an egg dish, thinking several others would, but, nothing!

I had egg salad that I made with bacon and pickles and onion. And a couple bites of scrambled eggs And a couple good sausage links. Then I ate the cinnamon roll. Maybe I shouldn’t have but I look forward to those every Easter.
I didn’t have a dinner but visited friends with my family and had lots of different things. Chunks of cold cuts and cheeses, meatballs, deviled eggs, and a couple different pieces of cake. Oh and a bowl of fresh berries and whipped cream!
Today I’ve been back to my normal diet. I didn’t even have any dark chocolate today. Just a small handful of blueberries in my unsweetened yogurt. And it tasted great! Hubby brought home a tourist chicken for dinner. Delicious!

(Wendy) #32

I don’t think it was a tourist. :joy: I meant to say rotisserie chicken. But it made me laugh when I saw it.

#33

I’ll eat if I’m hungry. I have an exam on Thursday, so I have to make sure my stomach is as happy as I can get it. But I might try an extended fast after that.

It was rough not getting much real food served, but I did eat the best parts. Was awful getting hungry again just after eating, so I’ve been looking forward to getting back home to my own kitchen.

#34

I was just about to ask what a tourist chicken was when I saw your follow up post. Ha!

They were a good quality candy, so I really enjoyed them! I find I don’t like cheap candy like M&M’s, but a good quality candy is still a treat at the holidays

(Lauren) #36

We went to my parents’ house. I had ham, pork loin, deviled eggs, and my broccoli/cheese/bacon casserole. For dessert I had strawberries and whipped cream, while everyone else ate chocolate cake.

I used to try to have “just a little bit” of the carb stuff on holidays, but I can’t. One serving of potatoes or candy sends me on a week-long carb spiral. It’s horrible.

(Banting & Yudkin & Atkins & Eadeses & Cordain & Taubes & Volek & Naiman & Bikman ) #37

We don’t “Easter” but we went Eastery… Lamb chops on the grill, after marinade in vinegars, oils, rosemary and garlic. Asparagus. Sauv Blanc. The wine was about 3g per serve, the lamb was about 1g per chop at most. Asparagus is nigh free AFAIC.

Easy. Maybe had some dark chocolate. Like a square.

#38

M’mmm. I’d pick strawberries and cream any day over chocolate cake anyway. I am one of those weirdos that does not care for chocolate cake or ice cream.

(Alyssa Pearce) #39

I ate deviled eggs, a hamburger patty, and a few pieces of smoked sausage. I was the only one in my family that is doing keto that stayed keto…a nsv for me!

(Alyssa Pearce) #40

What type of beer did you have??? I am craving beer so bad.
