I have been on Keto diet starting 1/3/19 and stil on it 2/23. I have been under 20 carbs the last 5/6 wks. Last 2/3 wks fasting 16-8 and last week did 20-4 3/4 times. Eat mostly 2 small meals and NO snacking last 5-6 weeks. I stay in ketosis always in am .8 to 1.5 pm 1.8/2.5. I take MCT oil three times daily Julian bakery instketo 3 td and best Keto pill on market 3 td. Last 3 weeks I would say I’m under10 carbs daily. I read everything I get my hands on. I add fat butter some nuts. Here’s the problem I’m gaining weight. The last two weeks I have gained almost 5 lbs. got to be doing something wrong. Anyone can help me.

Ditch the “keto” products and focus on real food. Meat, low carb veggies and healthy fats. Coconut oil, animal fats, EVOO, avocado oil and butter. Especially you should not use ketone supplements. The object is to get your own body producing them. I your ingesting ketones you surely will get good ketone readings when testing urine. You’re peeing out most of them most likely so they’re good for changing the color of the sticks but not much else. Focus on keeping carbs under 20 net grams and you’ll be fine put away your testing stuff for now or don’t use them much, they aren’t really useful.

I completely second the comment above on real food.

How about MCT oil should I not use this also. Thanks for your help

MCT oil naturally occurs in coconut oil. You don’t need to buy anything outside of what you can find at your local grocer.

I think it’s okay to use it especially if you’re running low on energy and need some. But as @Screenack said it’s not necessary if you’re using unprocessed coconut oil. But it’s expensive compared to regular coconut oil so I wouldn’t spend money on it again unless you’re really feeling like it’s doing something for you.

Thanks David as of today 3/2 I have taken your advise and weight is dropping and fast. I am sending pills back as there will take back. No Keto powder. It works.

I agree with everything said above but will also add that you absolutely do not need to do this unless you are hungry and unsatisfied.

We add fat only for energy and to satisfy our hunger but if you are feeling good then let your body do what it’s fine with, which is taking the fat that it needs off of your body instead of off of your plate. Just listen to your body.

This really makes me happy for you. Keto Hans become a “diet trend” that people are taking advantage of to cash in on folks who don’t know better. There are no special products needed for keto, keto manufactured foods, pills, powdered drink mixes or testers. For me it’s simply about using 95% single ingredient items, the other 5-10% are thing like pepperoni, salami, ham, bacon, cheese, good quality avocado oil mayo if I find a deal, hot sauce that’s 0 carb, things like that. I always check labels carefully for carbs per serving and the stated serving size. You’ll get better at shopping, we all make some mistakes especially starting out. I am so happy you figured out the problem and got things moving downward again.
