Water fast turned fat fast I guess

I started a water fast 10 days ago. I always start my fasts off using coffee with cream (sometimes mct or butter as well) for the first 3 days. This fast for some reason I never dropped the cream but the darndest thing I have lost 12 pounds in 10 days. Yesterday, I lost 1.2 pounds. It’s kind of crazy. I like fasting for autophagy but really want to lose this excess fat. According to an online calculator my ideal body weight is 145. I don’t think I’ll make it that low. I don’t remember ever weighing that. I’m 175 today and oddly that was my college weight but back then I would have fit in a today size 6 maybe smaller. Currently, I’m hoping for a size 8 whatever that means scale wise. Today, I am between a 12-14. I can wear some 10’s but not comfortably.

So I’m intrigued that I am losing well but taking in calories in my coffee so not a real fast and 2 days ago I broke my fast with bacon and butter to counteract some tannic acid. I just kept going after that as if i had not broken it. I want the benefits of autophagy too so i think I’ll try to ditch the fats the rest of the week and see if the fats loss continues.

Other Interesting results: Dealing with body recomposition too gained an inch and a half on waist, inch on belly, and someon my hips, but down 5 pounds since those measurements were taken.

I haven’t measured again. I’ll probably measureright before I end this fast. I’m planning on continuing until Tuesday as I have a business lunch next Wednesday.

Day 12, I’ve continued using fat during this fat fast. hHwc in my coffee, some butter, a beef little fat. I feel awesome. Went for a short run with my dog tonight, just a sprint length so much faster than my normal speed. Tomorrow I am super busy so I am going to ditch the fat and try to finish out the last 4 days as a true water fast for autophagy.

Day 14, funny nsv, took my daughter and her friend shopping at a giant store today, 6.5 hours, 3 cups of coffee, and probably close to 8 miles later my shorts that fit me fine this morning were falling off and I had to keep tightening my belt. The scale hasn’t moved in days but when I hopped on tonight after our marathon shopping it said almost the same as it did this morning. Normally, I am about 3-4 pounds heavier at night. I think I may have experienced a giant whoosh today. Will be interested to see what the scale says tomorrow. Other nsv this weekend went to an event for my daughter on Saturday and was interacting with many parents I don’t see very often it was almost embarrassing how many people came up and told me "how amazing " I look. It was really nice to hear especially when I have 6 more inches to lose off my hips and 4 off my tummy. Waiting for them to shrink gets demoralizing when body recomp has them increasing instead of decreasing.

Morning scale update day 15 modified fast: down 1.2 pounds from yesterday. As I suspected a long awaited whoosh, I’ve been sitting at 175.x since last Wednesday. Today 173.9 doing a little happy dance. Really don’t want to break this fast tomorrow. Wondering if I can wait and just eat lunch on Wednesday and hop back on the fast to get to my goal. This has been a super easy and strong fast for me. I was stuck at 185 for months. Jumped to 187 the day I started (obviously water gain) but down just about 14 pounds in 15 days. I’d like to do 30 days, darn business lunch!

Nice. Keep up your good work! Give that scale to someone you dislike. So many factors besides fat can effect your weight. Water, like you said…plus muscle and even bone density. It will only bring you down when you’re actually making more progress than you think.
