Vintage Ladies Keto Klub

Always good to check with your doctor and nutritionist! My sister is having some progress with her non-keto choice. It’s all what works for you. Good luck, good health!

Hello Felix, I’m in Victoria too!

(KaizenKate) #464

I am drinking 1-2 glasses red wine instead of sugary cocktails (which tend to start sugar binges for me). That might help you.

(Liz) #465

Thank you…before I run out and get cream cheese today do you think eating Brie or Camembert instead of cream cheese work?

(Karen) #466

I’ll bet they would, or butter.
Cream cheese 1oz - 9g fat, 2g carbs, 2g protein
Soooooo 8oz - 72 g fat, 16 g carbs, 16 g protein.
It helps me with compliance. 720, calories.
Sometimes I can decrease by the next day to 4oz. We’ll see.
@ 24 hours. ie last meal yesterday 1ish

Update; @ 42 hours now. Having tea.

If I may ask, what is the benefit of doing this? I love cream cheese and could probably eat a few packages a day if given free reign. Is it a way to lower insulin without doing a water only fast?

(Joan) #468

Philadelphia cream cheese is my new favorite. I just put it on some veggies instead of nut butter. That fat fast was great too. I did a 36 hour fast after the fat fast. It helped me get over the panic of not eating for a day,

(Karen) #469

Yes, I’m not up to a water fast. I’m a ninny.:confused::confused:

I see, fasting is super easy for me. Apparently, my ancestors survived every manner of plague, blight, locust infestation you name it. I think if I tried a cream cheese fast I might end up eating 3 or 4 packages a day. Water of coffee is easier for me. Lol Good luck on your fast.

Weighed in, which I do for reals every Monday. I weigh at home but count this one. I paid MRC to check my weight and measurements once a week, for accountability. I lie to myself… Oh the scale is on a flexible floor, oh I had too much salt, water, whatever, oh my hair is longer this week… Anyway, I’m down a bit.

You could add an extra egg yolk, that thickens the mayo👍

(Karen) #475

Thank you, thank you!! I didn’t even think of that!!

Hi Felix . Nanaimo here!

(Joan) #477

Has any one watched the movie The Magic Pill? We started watching it last night. Looks like 3 different people are going carb free. Two women and an autistic little girl. So far it was really interesting, some of the changes they were just starting to see. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of it.

(Darlene Horsley) #478

I did! It is well worth the watch!

(Lisa Stevens) #479

Well ladies, I’ve started adding some carbs back into my diet to change things up. I think I’ve been too low for too long and it’s messing with my hormones. I started retaining water even though I’m really good about drinking water and getting my electrolytes in. I work from home so I can easily make adjustments. Apparently with women, some of us can have stalls or weight gain from very low carb for too long. I’ve only tried this 2 days and feel better so I’m hopeful. My fat ankles are gone and I lost 3 lbs of water weight after the first day with 30 total carbs which I got in with more veggies. I’ve printed out Dr. Westerman’s food list and I’m referring to that a little.

(Jo) #480

Thank you for sharing this Lisa. Let us know how it goes, and how you are feeling.

(Karen) #481

I know Leanne V. Does this sometimes once a week. Acceptable veggie carbs and at the last meal of the day. Women’s issues are tricky. Love that you got some good results!!
