I’m so sorry you felt picked on here. This way of eating has been so successful for people here on the forum I’m sure the motive was to help. But there are many paths to health. Maybe once you get your blood pressure under control you can revisit keto. You are certainly welcome here. But if you find another way, that is fantastic. Good health to you!
Very nausea (can it be from going in and out of Ketosis)
I haven’t seen anyone on this thread being mean.
People have been offering you suggestions and trying to help with your situation.
You asked if going in and out of ketosis can cause nausea, but then said you have always been nauseous in the mornings. I gave you a suggestion to mirror your previous morning coffee that you said helped.
You have come off blood pressure meds for financial reasons, not because your doctor said you no longer needed them. As a Brit I can only sympathise with the situation you find yourself in, we have the NHS and for good or bad, at least we don’t have to make decisions based on cost.
I don’t think your symptoms are keto related as you seemed to have them before, but to be honest I have lost track of the timelines you have been talking about so that may be wrong.
I wish you luck and hope you find the cause.
Going in and out of ketosis? Rapid electrolyte depletion!
Feeling Sick on a Ketogenic Diet? There are 3 reasons why they feel sick on a ketogenic diet. This could be called the keto flu:
- Too much fat too quickly - if your gallbladder is not present or you do not have enough bile, and you add too many fats, this will overload the liver and gallbladder and create the feeling of nausea, feeling of the flu, bloating, right shoulder pain - esp. around the upper right trap, scapula or rhomboid muscle. For this I would recommend a simple solution, cut down the fats a bit…
- The ketogenic diet does deplete both electrolytes and B-vitamins. This alone can create fatigue, tiredness and by simply adding back in B-vitamins from nutritional yeast or some other natural source and electrolytes (esp. potassium), you can quickly resolve this. Your running the body now on a different cellular machine, which require slightly different nutrients.
- The 3rd reason is that you are stuck in “transition phase”. If you have been running your body on sugar your whole life and not you are switching to fat burning, you have to adapt. This requires new enzymes, etc. There is 2 ways you can do this - you can go cold turkey and just do it hard core OR you can do in more gradually. This would be mean avoiding sugar, grains, refined foods BUT keep in fruit, quinoa, yams or sweet potato - do this for a while, then over time you can take away the fruit.
again, thx… I wasn’t this sick till this post asking help. actually before this post cause I logged onto someone elses cause I thought it was similar… well I should have known then to stay to myself cause she wasn’t happy w/me invading her question. wow… too much for me to even wanna b involved in anymore…
seems as if i’m misunderstood again…
I have been reading about KETO low carbs since the middle of August. too much probably.
I think FOR ME this didn’t work. Yes, I was trying to get off of my blood pressure meds due to losing my health insurance. but by no means was it financial. I always wanted to find a way to get off of pharma drugs that’s why i do use all natural NOT CINIADE products to try to supplement. I do take a lot of vitamin/herbs. I WAS DOING GOOD!!! then i started KETO low carb WHICH by the way nice people on here SAYS it promotes lowering your blood pressure so more of a reason i thought well lets try… BUT it did the opposite to ME…ME…ME… I’m glad that it didn’t do it to ALL of U but you need to understand EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT n things affect everyone diffe
@ChrissyB52, I am not going to tell you what you should do, but I think you would want to be aware that the Keto Advance Weight Loss pills are not intended for people with high blood pressure. I know you think the pills aren’t a problem, but I am clarifying this for your safety. If you don’t believe me, you can look up the product on Amazon and read up on the “Important Information” section.
Best of luck to you.
As explained in my pm I suggested you start your own thread so you could get answers regarding your situation.
I’ve been as helpful as I can.
Everyone here is trying to help you.
You kinda don’t seem to be listening.
Blood pressure might get too LOW with the combined blood pressure medication and keto pills or diet, so must let your doctor know what you are doing?
Blood pressure medication: “…If you’re on blood pressure medication and start a low-carb diet there’s a risk of getting low blood pressure. You may relatively quickly become too healthy for your medication. This blood pressure lowering effect on low carb can happen within days, but it may also take months or even a year to reach full effect. …” …More
Can I Eat Keto if I have High Blood Pressure? (2018 Update)
I don’t normally do this, but the only posts that are rude on this thread are yours.
People, including me, have taken the time to try to help you and offer support and you have accused us of being rude.
Your posts aren’t the easiest to read and follow, but people have stuck with you, trying to help and all we get is abuse from you.
I think I am the one who pointed out that you seemed to have the symptoms before and you agree that it has given you a direction to investigate, but you said that I did it rudely. I am really at a loss as to how it was rude.
I have to say that I am surprised how upset I am at your tone, but I make a point of treating others as I would like to be treated and for you to suggest otherwise is something I take quite personally.
@Jacymac you did nothing wrong, and I don’t know what kind of help this person was expecting if she was not willing to hear any suggestions. I don’t think you were rude in the slightest sense of the word.
Well, then. You just complain about (imaginary) things while making impossible for anyone to address the issues.
You surely understand why that, combined with your posting style, make it look like you don’t have the faintest desire for anyone to assist, and that you just want to have a whinge?
Is that a Golden Retriever, Frank?
My brother & sister in law had one for a lot of years. One of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever known of. She lived for something close to 16 years which is quite old for a Golden. Kinda made me think I wouldn’t mind having one for my own one day…
@Mnketo46 and @Skoobaroo, I believe you’ve started an official tradition for how to respond in situations like this. Well done!
I did try and help right in the beginning. I may have been the first responder. It quickly went downhill from there. I stopped responding but like a train wreck, I just kept watching.
That was Buddy our faithful golden. We said goodbye to him in June after 13 wonderful years. He was the best.
I feel like a while ago I noticed a correlation between posts with this disordered chaotic writing style and threads going off the rails with the OP getting angry with everyone, so since then for better or worse I have been hesitant to chime in with advice on those threads even in the early stages. They don’t all turn out that way, of course. And it seemed there were many others like yourself already making a valiant effort.
