Thank you Rob for the feedback… basically keep my total carbs under 20 keep fat intake up …
Yes I am new … trying to get KETO happy and make it a way of life… so I can tell myself I am not on a diet…
answer me another question ? going to a party at work to celebrate a colleague promotion…if my carbs are considerably low is it allowed to have a low carb beer?
Or just this throw KETO completely off…

You know you need your carbs to be 20g of net carbs or less. Alcohol will slow ketone production temporarily. We can’t tell you if you should or shouldn’t drink one beer. It’s up to you to make the decision.

Low-carb/lite beer is only 2-4g of carbs so well within your budget. Alcohol is a little tricky in early stage keto since it takes your liver off the job of being keto and forces it to process the alcohol first (it is a toxin to the body) but a lite beer doesn’t have much to process.

You may also feel more intoxicated than you would have before. I know my tolerance crashed.

Down a couple lbs feeling fantastic… however more importantly is how clear headed I feel…
Not Feeling the up and down roller coaster of highs and plummeting lows…
have another question? Caffeine, black coffee …from my research I have read is that too much coffee can increase your insulin levels therefore spiking you out of ketos… anyone found this to be true.?
What is everyone drinking…
Water and electrolyte water :sweat_drops: ok plenty
Not a big fan of tea, suggestions helpful

N=1 - some do, most don’t. You’ll just have to test and see?

I do water, tea, water with sugar free Mio/squash, occasionally a Diet Coke. I never drank coffee rather than just avoiding it.

2-3 a week - usually if eating out.

BUT some folks like @IceNine (I think) guzzle gallons of SF soda :cup_with_straw: with no ill effects. N=1 as ever…

Yes, I think most of us probably could use upping our fat intake. Well I know I could anyway. I have been consciously trying to force myself to do smaller meat portions and increase the fats. Not so small I lose muscle, but I don’t think there’s any danger there I usually eat too much meat anyway.

Yeah, the artificial sweeteners don’t seem to have any effect on me. Not even this stuff: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Juicy-Fruit-Fruity-Chews-Original-Sugarfree-Gum-120-pc/43819444

And that gum seems to have every sweetener under the sun in it. Xylitol, mannitol, Ace K, Aspartame, it’s all there! I chew at least 15 pieces a day of this stuff, I hate stale gum :slight_smile:

I’m a HUGE fan of Monster Ultra energy drinks too. I’m on a 2 can a day minimum on that habit.

None if it affects me, not yet. But damn am I trying!

Another Question… what do you take or do for leg cramps severe . Aka… Charlie horse … starting a fast don’t want to break it…

I don’t get those but probably because I am supplementing with electrolytes. That’s what most people claim as the cause of such things. I take 4-6000mg of sodium (through food/salting), some potassium through No Salt and 400mg of Magnesium (pill).

I cooked it in my instant pot in two batches. Then finished it under a broiler. Haven’t tried it yet but I’m sure it will be great. I have enough fat for 2 weeks
