Trader Joe's shopping list

Trader Joe’s has half-ounce coconut oil packets! Mobile fat bombs!

#23

I went to Trader Joe’s over the weekend and found all sorts of goodies. Things that I thought I could only find online were right there on the shelf.

Oh yeah I also got some Prosciutto, which I’ve never tried before.

My favorites from TJ’s is a big bag of Basil and some raw nuts… blend up with good olive oil and some Parmesan cheese any you have some yummy pesto.

TJ’s is the only place around where you can get a big bunch of basil at a good price.

Fresh Pesto (I have it with zoodles and sausage) 3g carb
Garlic spread - 4g carb
Zhoug - 3g carb

So basically I walk around smelling like a garlic bomb all the time, but the above are some of my favorites that haven’t been mentioned and are high fat. We’ve been having the zhoug and garlic sauce as sides with a whole roasted chicken once a week. It’s incredible.

I was going to recommend that. They have a smoked one, imported from Germany that is outstanding. I buy two and freeze one!

Roasted/Salted Macadamia nuts are really good too and reasonably priced.

Once upon a time, they sold marcona almonds in safflower oil with rosemary. A favorite of mine.

That reminds me of some olives steeped in oil/rosemary from Europe that our Sam’s used to sell. I think they quit carrying them because these idiots around here don’t know that real olives have pits!

“Just a Handful of Olives” packets for when I’m running around. They also make a great movie snack. So yummy.
1000 day Gouda.

Made me giggle. It’s a 40 minute drive to TJ for me. I’ve had some good luck with ALDI, Costco and Amazon.

In addition to recommendations already given in this thread, I shop there for:
Pasta sauce
Olive packets
Everyday seasoning
Salts
Everything but the bagel seasoning
Salami
Cocoa nibs
Unsweetened coconut (frozen and dried)
Freeze dried berries (to process with whipping cream)
Frozen mushrooms
Frozen artichoke hearts
Ginger turmeric tea
Mineral water
Curry summer sauce

#34

I got some of that, it’s good stuff.

#36

Yes you are… If you didn’t eat, you’d all be dead. :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s how I ate growing up in America, that’s how everyone I knew ate too. But then again I grew up in a poor neighborhood with poor parents and everyone else was poor too.

I’ve been lurking around the forums for a few weeks, but this thread got me to join. Trader Joe’s has been my go to place before and after going keto. My favorite post-keto finds are:

Montezuma 100% dark chocolate (ate this plain for months; now occasionally; sometimes dunked in a nut butter!)
Roasted cocoa nibs (these go on yogurt with tj’s shredded coconut or get eaten plain)
Just coconut chunks (frozen)

You all covered much of the other great stuff!

What do you do with it?

#42

I defrost the coconut and eat it plain for a high fat, high fiber snack.
You can use it for smoothies if your blender is really powerful - my nutribullet can chop it a bit but some chunks are left behind.

Wrong response. I wanted to know what folks do with the Everything (but the Bagel) topping.

I have used the everything seasoning when making mock keto bagels out of fathead dough. I make them tiny and eat them as a special treat. They freeze well. I also have put this seasoning on chicken to change things up…kinda weird…but in a good way.

A couple things we always get from TJ are the seaweed chips, prepackaged frozen zoodles for a quick meal, frozen riced cauliflower for quick meals, their many clove garlic sauce(it is a little high in carbs but a little goes a long way), and the TJ kimchi is amaaaaaazing.

The only problem is my husband will find me wrapping kimchi in seaweed chips and going way over my carb count on occasion, so we limit the kimchi and seaweed chips in our house.

I want to top cream cheese with some and see if it fills the void for an everything bagel with cream cheese. Maybe on celery?
