On Jan 1 2019 I did a keto diet for 40 days and lost 10 kgs the I took a a break for 10th Feb - 24feb(I ofcourse gained 3kg of weight including the water weight that I lost earlier) and 25th Feb I’m back on keto
I have had the keto flu and it passed with ease rather than being a nightmare but something wierd is happening
I. A big fan of legs day so when I started gymming after a few months gap I did work my legs
Couldn’t go as heavy as usual on barbell squats and press, but otherwise it was kinda heavy
I rather than usual 20 grams carbs added 10 more grams of carbs so that I won’t feel burnout of energy
But since that day (it’s the second day now) I feel sleepy after
Usually during keto I felt insomnia for first few weeks when I did it for the first time
Is it normal results if I do heavy gymming ?
Should I start with lightweight gymming ?
All and any help is appreciated

I’d wait until fat-adaptation to engage in heavy exercise, if I were you. We get into ketosis as soon as we run out of glucose, but fat-adaptation, in which the muscles metabolize fatty acids in place of glucose and even ketone bodies, takes a while. There are processes at the cellular level that simply take time to get into gear. Once you are fat-adapted, you should feel more energetic and your performance should improve noticeably.

Also, if I were you I’d avoid extra carbohydrate. The surest and quickest way to fat-adaptation is to keep carb intake low. We recommend keeping it under 20 g/day. Your actual carbohydrate threshold might be higher than that, but unless you have suffered sever metabolic damage, 20 g/day is low enough to keep you in ketosis and promote fat-adaptation. If you are metabolically deranged, you might need to eat even less carbohydrate.
