Happy Birthday and welcome!
We’re a fun bunch here…you’ve come to the right place!
Today’s my 50th birthday and I'm new here
Happy Birthday and welcome! You’ll find this a very informative group of people
Happy 50th! Ah, to be that young again…
Seriously though, you’re in good company here. Plenty of women your age around, including me. It wasn’t until 50-ish I found I couldn’t lose weight using my old methods. I literally cried when I realized I’d have to do keto to get the wieght off. Now I’m wishing I’d done it decades ago!
Happy Birthday and congrats on the decision, within a year you’re going to feel like you’re in your 30’s again!
You are on your way! Just remember to eat. Three meals/day worked for me for the first couple weeks, then I didn’t feel a need/desire to eat as often. It took away the carb and sweet cravings, and that anxious feeling I would get from feeling “hungry.” Don’t try to restrict your calories at this point, that will come naturally once your body gets acclimated. Keep the carbs under 20.
Can’t wait to hear after you start to experience all of the benefits that are coming your way.
Happy Belated Birthday! You are just a youngster.
Happy (belated) birthday, and a big WELCOME! You’ll find a lot of amazing, smart, and helpful people here who are ready and willing to give advice and support. KCKO (Keep Calm & Keto On)!
Yippee!
I also came from an Atkins loss years ago. It helps! You know what you have to do.
Mine was over 10 years ago and I’m impressed with all the new keto products available and recipes.
Almost feel like I have a lot more options this time around.
Happy birthday!
You’re female you’re menopausal, so be patient. Listen to all the keto dudes podcasts. The last one had to do with possibly being menopausal, and being estrogen dominant. Some anecdotal evidence suggest that you need to keep some greens in your diet, leafy greens, to bind up the extra estrogen. Megan Ramos had some suggestions on doing alternate day fasting. Good luck and welcome
Congrats on maintaining a 75 lb weight loss over 10 years!! I hope you see it that way :). Happy birthday and welcome to the forums!! Read up, learn, ask questions, and be sure to post pics of those terriers wherever possible
I had a childhood friend with a 21st birthday and she would brag that she had “the longest birthday of the year”. I always remember her on the solstice and reach out to wish her a happy longest birthday of the year
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome and birthday wishes!! Today is day #2 for me and I had eggs scrambled in butter with extra butter on top for breakfast and coffee. I’m making sure to use my salt and drink sugar free Powerade to help the “Keto flu” symptoms that I have gone through in my past attempts at this. So far so good. I have this strange sense of determination this time, and as someone said, think how I will feel a year from now???!!
Happy Birthday. I’m new to this way of eating as well, and my birthday was 2 days ago. See you on the forums.
Happy Birthday!!
What an exciting and wonderful decision to make for yourself and your health on such an important day.
Hope you enjoyed your birthday.
Happy belated! I wish I’d started by my 50th. I had just about started my 53rd year. I was 80 pounds heavier and looked older I think.
Just think how much better you will feel next year!
Wow, Happy Birthday. I turn 50 in exactly 1 month from today and I am the exact same weight as you, although post menopausal ( I started early, lucky lucky me ) My story parallels yours in so many ways. I am so happy you posted. It gave me a little boost today to know there is someone very similarly situated out there on the same journey.
We are going to crush this! … and then smother it with butter and have it for lunch LOL
Hope to see you around the forum!
Stick some candles in bacon, blow them out and eat the bacon!!
Happy birthday
I’m 71 and starting again also. If you want we can coach each other. Hope you do well
Welcome back to the Keto world, @herairness (Carole). You can do this! This forum is amazing for support, helpful advice and friendly chat!
Yes I know and always come back here. I’m having such a problem. I start Keto then I see something about Vegan and I feel that Keto is unhealthy. So I keep going back and forth. Then I read and see all the wonderful Keto transformations and I’m back on Keto. I just need to stick on it. Any thoughts?
I’m the exact same way, herairness!!! I went back and forth between Keto and vegan until I finally made up my mind to stick with Keto. I even looked into vegan Keto! But today makes a week of regular Keto and I feel great!! Lots of energy and very little appetite. I’m determined and I’m gonna stick with it. We can coach each other, ok?
