I wasn’t super overweight but I was still very unhappy about being out of shape, and I am no stranger to diets, I have tried a lot of things over the last decade, with varying degrees of success, and I tried keto before a couple of times and couldn’t stick with it for different reasons but kept trying over the past couple of years and eventually I could get a rythem and it worked its magic, I lost 30lbs in the first 6 weeks, the good thing I always keep track of my weight via Lose it and Fitbit Aria scale yay tech so here is a look

I started just before Thanksgiving and by Christmas time I lost a ton of weight, and since then I have been trying to keep the momentum with moderate success but the good thing is I am still in the race, most other diets would have failed me by now.
Wish my luck

I’ve got to do more digging to find decent full body pics (as with many, they were avoided like they would steal my soul :flushed:) but for now, faces will have to do. While I don’t see the change day to day, and still feel more like the person on the left, this does make it clearer.

End of 2014 to 2018 - Initial losses via brutal CICO/exercise, much of the gains then lost. 2.5 year stall - then Keto, sweet, sweet (savory) Keto… 60lbs in 6.5 months. Best WoE EVER! Net, 100lbs down. 30-40 lbs to go.
2015-2018.
NEVER GOING BACK…

In the fall of 2012 is when my weight-loss Journey began. I had just started an internship and we were dropped off along the side of a pasture and had to go out to get some horses to bring up to the gate. Well everybody had to jump the fence. When I could not make it over I was so embarrassed that I vowed then and there that I was going to lose this weight. After trying so many different diets and exercise plans and getting the weight off and then putting it back on again and repeating this cycle over and over again I found Keto in the middle of December of 2017. As we are about to go into May I have just completed my fourth month of straight keto since the beginning of my weight-loss journey I have lost about 84pounds. The last 20 coming off with Keto and actually staying off even if I have a slip up on the diet. Not only am I happy with thisbweight loss but I feel incredible and my anxiety and panic attacks are completely gone! Cannot wait to hit a full year of keto to see what my body actually has in store for me.

After a very sad divorce (Aren’t they all) I decided to try and make lemonade out of lemons. I had some success with a low carb diet twenty years ago when my ob/gyn told me I likely had PCOS but never said anything about hyperinsulimia. We had been trying to get pregnant for three years when I started the “Carbohydrate Addicts Diet” by Richard and Rachael Heller. I lost 20 lbs and my Dr. put me on clomid and voila we were pregnant. After we nursed exclusively for 6 months my weight started to go back up. Unfortunately I did not stick with the diet. I gained back up to 216 pounds. Did I mention I’m only 5’1". Then in 2005 I tried the “South Beach Diet” and lost almost 50 pounds over 7 months and got down to 162 pounds. Then hurricane Katrina came and turned everything upside down in Mississippi (people forget that the hurricane actually hit Mississippi directly and did even more damage here than in New Orleans). Maybe that was just an excuse to no longer do what a lot of people considered a fad diet but slowly over time I drifted away from low carb eating and started gaining again. I think the lower fat/lean meat aspect of that diet left me craving more. Over the next 7 years I gained back 40 pounds. Then the weight gain really accelerated and I gained another 40 in just a few years maxing out at 242.5 pounds. I felt trapped inside that huge body. It felt like a coffin from which I was frantically trying to claw my way out of from the inside.

I would often come home from work “hangry”. I’d eat dinner (pizza or mac and cheese or spaghetti), usually at least two to three portions worth. And then 45 minutes later I’d be raiding the kitchen cabinets or refrigerator for more. I knew I shouldn’t be hungry but I’d feel ravenous. I’d get so mad at myself for eating AGAIN. Then at night I couldn’t sleep because I’d have reflux so bad it would wake me up every 2 hours.

Once I was single I realized I could eat how ever I wanted. I found “Diet Doctor” on line and watched Dr Andreas Eenfeldt chug an entire liter of heavy cream! I was impressed! I went to the grocery store that night and bought some heavy whipping cream and drank some in the car. OMG! How delicious! So down the rabbit hole I went! All those foods I wanted to eat as a kid, but my mother would not let me eat because they were too high fat were now on the menu again! Nuts, cheese, eggs, full fat cottage cheese, and bacon!!! I found all these wonderful podcasts, you tube videos, cook books and websites. I’ve lost 95 pounds in 7 months. My blood chemistry is better than ever, my skin feels amazing, reflux is gone, no more headaches, and best of all my mood and brain feel amazing! I credit this new lifestyle for getting me through the most difficult year of my life. Keto/lchf has truly saved my life. I am now trying by example show everyone I can how to save themselves too! I can never look at food the same way again! Cheers, Karen

Great results. So glad you no longer get seizures, that is more important than a number on a scale.

Keep Rockin’ It.
