Summer BBQ on the mind

(Mike W.) #1

I’m looking for some great summer bbq recipes. I usually do pulled pork or brisket (gonna have to adjust my pork rub) but I’m wondering if anyone has any great side recommendations with recipes? We used to do a creamy blue cheese with candied walnuts, mexican street corn, grilled asparagus, bacon wrapped jalapenos. Obviously we can still do some of these things, but I’m looking to try something new! What are your bbq/picnic go-tos? Thanks.

Potato salad and baked beans. Not anymore, though.

Someone posted a cole slaw recipe the other day that looked really good.
I guess that would be it for me, I nice smoked brisket and some cole slaw.

Cauli Mac and cheese goes well with BBQ.
Wilted greens.
Creamed spinach.
Cheddar biscuits.
Keto BBQ suace and rubs.

Yeah, I’ve been thinking about barbecue, too, but I’m wondering which traditional BBQ sweeteners yield the lowest carbs in the ratios they’re typically used in the sauce–pineapple, honey, molasses, brown sugar–so I can choose wisely at friend’s parties this summer.

I lean towards less processed stuff, anyway, so I’m thinkin’ pineapple and molasses.
