Starting week 2 of Keto

progress

#1

So week one is in the books. I’ve loss 10 pounds. I feel better about myself and I basically went cold turkey off of sugar and carbs. It was/is very hard. I have a couple of questions. Thanks for all the reply’s on the sugar questions. They helped big time. My new questions are in regards to the way I feel. I usually feel hungry and often weak. I did have a big dinner Saturday a grass fed ribeye and a shrimp boil. Which I felt full and good after. So the question’s are how do I maintain felling good? I usually don’t reach my 20g carbs. I started on 5/5/18 so I should be fat adapted right? I also fast meals sometimes too. Also … oh boy, macros. Those darn macros. My assumption is that I am not eating enough of something.

My macros are:
20G Carbs
86G Protein
107G Fat

I downloaded cronmeter. Which I love. But it says my macros are:
20G Carbs
42G Protein
137G Fat

Which one do I follow and why do you think I am feeling down? I’ve only be using the app for 2 days. It’s not the keto flu. I’ve already had that. It’s just almost always feeling hungry and feeling weak.

Thanks my Keto people.

Someone will be on here to help you with your macros, but I just wanted to say that fat adaptation can take a while (even 6-8 weeks). It does depend on what you were eating before and also on your overall metabolic health, but basically your system has been running on glucose/glycogen for a long time and you’re asking it to suddenly switch to another fuel. Our bodies are made to burn fat, but when you haven’t used it as your primary fuel source it takes time for your body to adjust! Almost everyone who’s a serious exerciser notices a drop in strength and stamina for the first month or two (or three) until they’re really burning fat as a primary fuel. You’ll probably start to feel better much sooner than that for normal activities and energy level.

Eat to satiety! It’s better not to be hungry at this early stage. The message you want to send to your body is “There’s plenty of food/fuel. [Now please adjust fuel sources accordingly  ]”

Congratulations on cutting sugar and carbs!!! The hard part is over. From here on in, it’s adjusting macros as needed and, mostly, KCKO.
