Show me yer: weird food combos

(8 year Ketogenic Veteran) #1

Half a brick of cream cheese (2 grams carbohydrate), 4 drops anise oil, squirt of sucralose.

Mix well.
Creamy licorice ftw.
Is it good? If you like licorice! This is my second night eating this!!

(Christopher John Howson) #2

slices of “lazer ham” wrapped up, cream cheese and almonds in the middle.

3 - 4 raw eggs, a tablespoon of MCT oil, a tablespoon of chia seeds, a tablespoon of ground flaxseeds, and a teaspoon of cinnamon. Whisk it up and drink it.

When I get home, I’m considering melting a tablespoon of grassfed butter and adding that as well.

A smear of Kerry Gold on a slice of whatever cheese…at least I thought it was weird until I read it over on the “You know you’re a Ketoer” thread!

A piece of cold thick bacon scraped over room temp stick of butter, yes food combo plus the method, I would love to eat it this way in my dr office. Lol

You guys are great!

I thought of another one. I love to spread sugar free strawberry jam on cold slices of bacon. So yummy. Lol

This is not that weird but I did hear about it last night and want to try it. Wrap a piece of avocado in prosciutto then squeeze lemon over it.

The two I do that squick my wife out are;

  1. Pork rinds as scoops for whipped philly cream cheese and
  2. A warm hard boiled egg mashed with about a 1/4 cup of olive oil in a glass with salt and pepper and I eat it savouringly slowly with a teaspoon.

Actually I did this last night, after training as my post-workout :joy:

I dip whole roasted pecan halves in butter that has been sprinkled with pumpkin pie spice O_O

(8 year Ketogenic Veteran) #13

After my ten day water fast I ate a cold crispy chicken thigh with sugar free strawberry jam on top.

(8 year Ketogenic Veteran) #14

I have mixed stevia drops and banana extract into sour cream

(8 year Ketogenic Veteran) #15

I love sliced raw marinated beef heart

(G. Andrew Duthie) #16

Two or so tablespoons of sour cream, cinnamon, SF vanilla syrup and Truvia to taste.

Nice dessert alternative to ice cream.

EDIT: Maybe not so weird, but not sure how many would think of sour cream as a dessert option.

(8 year Ketogenic Veteran) #17

Yes! Sour cream with a bit of sweetener and flavor extract is wonderful!

(8 year Ketogenic Veteran) #18

Have you ever tried sunflower seeds on fried eggs? Surprisingly delicious!

(8 year Ketogenic Veteran) #19

I have tried deep frying anything in my kitchen that is not nailed down.
Plain broccoli and cauliflower were very good! So were plain mushrioms.
I even deep fried a steamed hard egg, peeled of course. It was meh.

(G. Andrew Duthie) #20

Nope. I’m generally a scrambled eggs only kinda guy. I have a thing about food texture, and fried eggs kinda sets that off. I may try to work around that, since scrambled/omelets is somewhat limiting, particularly if I want to try an egg fast like @siobhan.
