Sesame peanut shiritake noodles

So I didn’t get a pic because I didn’t think it would be pretty (iPhone and evening kitchen lighting …) but I was DYING for … something? You know those days where you just have to have something you shouldn’t ?? Fought cravings all day

I’ve never ever used shiritake noodles. And assumed they were dry. When I saw they were in a bag of liquid my tummy flipped a bit (I have texture issues and these looked DISgusting) but the 1.70 price tag had me. More than that and I would have passed. But what the hell …

Rinsed and then soaked in vinegar water for a min. Boiled for another and then cooked dry in a pan (was amazed nothing stuck) for about 10 min and tossed with the warm sauce and some crisp steamed broccoli. Oh my goodness nom!!! Salty umami delish

The noddles are still chewy. I would never use these to replace an Italian pasta but for Asian (my weakness /craving) they were an acceptable vehicle for the sauce.
