Resetting my foood cravings

fasting

#1

Hi,

I am new here so just a very short summary of my struggle to lose weight.

As far I know I’m not diabetic or have any other medical condition
except the tendency to overeat.

I have restarted my effort to lose some pounds end of February,
things went good, lost a few pounds but everything stopped.

Contrary to many people I have no problem eating the fatty stuff, combined
with the tendency to overeat puts me in a special predicament. Not that I just
didn’t loose any, I gained a few pounds the last few weeks. The worst part of it is
that everything I put on goes around my waist. :frowning:

So I was thinking, I will try and extended fast to reset my “appetite”.
I’m starting today and planning to go until Friday or as long as I can.

I did a few 3 day fasts before but I felt week and had to stop, now I believe it was
because of the lack of sodium and electrolytes.

This is my plan.
-I drink coffee and I don’t really want to give it up, 2 cups a day one with coconut milk at home the other with heavy cream at work.
-Make Ketorade and see if it cures the lack of energy problem
-Fast from now (May 06) until Friday (May 11, five days) or if I can go longer make it a seven of ten day fast.
-Reset my food binging tendency during this time.

Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to write it down and make it permanent to keep myself accountable.
Suggestions, comments, or even encouragements are welcome. :cowboy_hat_face:

Thanks for reading.

The plan sounds good.

If you haven’t done so, listen to the podcast about eating to satiety, episode 105.
You want to eat low carb, moderate protein, and fat to satiety.

It is great you are not afraid of fats, so many newbies are due to the brainwashing over the last few decades. But in the end calories do add up, while I don’t think they should be a central focus, if you are putting on weight instead of losing it, you might want to gauge how many you need to not gain. Let your body consume some of the fat calories in your diet from your stored fats, around the waist, etc.

Good luck on sorting it all out.

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I listened to that episode. Most likely I am an emotional eater, very often I catch myself eating just because I’m doing something I used to do while binging on ice cream (my poison), or I just simply miss the taste of food. Most days are ok but sometimes I can just go crazy on food.

I almost forgot, I am starting out @ 98.5kg.
The first day was not bad as I kept busy.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good tasting Ketorade?
