So I just made my first attempt at Fathead Pizza and it taste pretty good, but I totally failed on the shape.

I spent my teenage years working in pizza parlors and I was pretty good at making a pie. Oh well I will just have to try again.

What have you made that has turned out less than perfect?

It happens. The first time I made one the shape was perfect. Apparently it was dumb luck, because the lst couple I made looked pretty similar to your pic.

The important thing is it still tastes awesome

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again! Just a few days ago, I had a major flop with my first Hollandaise sauce, and I knew what I screwed up after I did it. I had some wonderful help here on the forum though, and my next attempt was a flaming success! Since then, I’ve done Bearnaise (which was friggin awesome btw!) and todays special was Baconaise! So don’t give up. Cooking is a blast!

there was the tragic time I forgot to set the timer on the bacon in the oven. seriously redefined tragedy… a whole pan of bacon… as black as the deep night of my sorrow at not being able to eat the bacon.

Maybe it’s just me but my first attempts at something are often not my best. It’s new. It’s something I’ve never made before. Sure, it’s often quite good, but upon tasting it, I often have ideas on how I could have done it better, maybe what it needed a little extra of or a little less of, that kind of thing. V.2.0 is usually better. (Just make notes on your recipe so you’ll remember if it’s a while in between V.1.0 and V.2.0… if you’re like me, you’ll forget…)
