Real quesadilla

Living in the Southwest you get used to foods like tortillas and quesadilla. I was missing these foods after surgery. Today that changed. I had a cheese quesadilla.

I used Mission Carb Control Whole Wheat Tortilla Fajita Size (3 net carb and 3g protein) and Mexican shredded cheese. Grill it in some butter and delicious.

It was amazing. Low Carb, Bariatric, and Keto Approved.

Sounds good, but I look on Amazon for those. $34 for 6. Eeeek.

Wow. I get them in the grocery store.

Bob, I wonder if that’s for (6) packages?

Edit…it is for 6 packages of 8 count. so 48 in total. they have a pretty long shelf life…which is worrisome.

I find them at my local supermarket as well. Several different brands. I use them to make quesadillas, wraps, etc.

Most would not find these ingredients keto friendly. If it works for you…FANTASTIC

I first learned of these on this site back in beta times so I’m thinking I’m not the only one who finds it keto.

It’s not for me to say whether they are keto or not. I was just making people aware. The ingredients list has many items a lot of people here are trying to avoid.

The carb’s advertised are absolutely keto friendly.

The chemicals are not the greatest but if you’re going to have a wrap it’s better then the real ones.

IF you need to eliminate the gluten, the coconut wraps from Julian Bakery (in tumeric flavor specifically) are not a bad replacement for a tortilla other than they are a little pricey (I buy them in bulk and they keep). http://paleowrap.com/ I’m not going to say they are GREAT but work, in particular for like a sandwich wrap but I have made quesadilla’s out of them…

#11

Ah, ok that’s much better.

#12

Certainly not JERF friendly.

(Guardian of the bacon) #13

What is JERF ?

I’m glad this group allows things like this. I might not use these every day, but I have very occasionally used them and felt fine afterwards so I don’t think they affected ketosis. That wasn’t the case when I tried a Quest bar. That made me feel horrible so I avoid those.

(Guardian of the bacon) #15

I don’t judge. I’m a big believer in “your body, your rules”. I just like to make sure people are aware.

I agree with you on the Quest Bar. I will never have them again. No protein bars or anything of that sort.

(MakinBacon) #17

I use those when I absolutely have to, but I do avoid them as much as possible. I used them a few weeks ago to make chimichanga’s. The filling was just ground beef and cheese, and then fried in lard. Topped it with some more melted cheese. I wish I could find a better replacement for tortillas.

(Michael Iafrato ) #18

I am going to start looking at making my own tortilla.

Looks like there are a lot of options to try
