Quick Greens for Slow Cooker

Greens are nutritious and delicious and this is a easy quick recipe.

Ingredients

  1. 2-4 Ham Hocks
  2. 1 bunch of Mustard Greens
  3. 1 Bunch of Swiss Chard
  4. Onion
  5. 4 Cloves Garlic
    Optional
    Black Pepper
    Mushrooms
    Red Dried Chile Pepper Flakes to Your Taste.
    Other greens can be substituted for the chard or you can use more types. My crockpot is smaller and that was all I could fit.
    Careful with the Salt the hocks have a lot of salt in them.

Add Ham hocks to Crockpot fill the crockpot 1/2 way with water.
Cut the Mustard greens and chard into big pieces stuff into the crockpot to the very top.
Peal onion
peal Garlic cloves and add whole

After the greens are reduced add more water.

Put all in crockpot and put on low overnight. More time it cooks better it tastes. Don’t taste at beginning it doesn’t taste good until the Ham Hocks are totally softened and the flavor leached out.
